I'm Human, Not Superman

Over the weekend I celebrated three years of being on a
journey to better thinking, living, and serving my purpose here on earth.  Looking back I can see how far I’ve come, how
far I have to go, and also the detours made along the way.    For those of you who have traveled this
journey probably know where I’m going with this, so I look forward to hearing
your thoughts.

I can remember the first day…   I was so excited about seeing life through
different eyes, experiencing things I’ve never experienced, meeting great
people along the way and encouraging everyone I loved to join me on this quest
for better living. Each morning I had prayer, chanted my daily affirmations, and
read Mastin Kemps “The Daily Love” and Ralph Marstens “Daily Motivator”.  Each morning riding into work I had a
conversation with my best bud about conquering the fears and challenges of the
day, and each evening I read numerous positive thinking books…  There was no stopping me, at least that’s
what I thought.

The first year passed by quickly and before I knew it, I was
at the end of year two.  During my first
two years I launched two websites, had speaking engagements and conducted
workshops across the USA.  It felt as
though I was finally living my purpose and God was opening the doors into my
destiny.  Life was truly busy; it was so
busy I didn’t have time or energy to do the things that helped me get to where I
was.  You know like praying, chanting
affirmations, reading and feeding my inner man. 
The morning conversation with my best bud changed as well.  Instead of talking about conquering fears, we
just talked about fear.  Because life was
moving so fast, I didn’t realize this at the time.  I was so busy pouring into others and planning
what I could do next, I forgot about the most important person, ME…

You see this past three years has taught me so much about
myself.  I’ve learned more in this short
period of time than my entire life…  I’ve
learned my true weaknesses as well as my true strengths, but most importantly I’ve
learned I’m a “Now” kind of guy….  Each
morning I have to repeat everything over… 
Daily I need my affirmations, readings, prayers, and planning sessions
of conquering fear.  I need daily pep
talks about forgiving and letting go of things I can’t control.  Daily I have to remind myself of the
greatness I possess, the unlimited possibilities before me, and the limitless
potential within me.  I know this sounds
exhausting, but it’s what I have to do in order to stay on the path to greater
things.

The truth is… I’m human… 
I’m weak to the negative talking, gossip, flesh desiring things, bad
eating, abd those things that challenge my self-worth. I’m weak to falling for
the tricks of the enemy, believing I have things in control, and finding myself
entertaining what others think of me.  I’m
human, not superman…  I have feelings,
emotions, and weaknesses just like everyone else.  So because of this I must constantly DAILY offset
these things with the positivity and the  truth of who God created me to be.  The most important thing I’ve learned on long
the way is you will not reach your destiny living off of yesterday
accomplishments or tomorrow’s possibilities…  You can only reach it by taking it “one day at
a time”.
