First Student Seeks to Hire 200 Bus Drivers Across the Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO — First Student is seeking to fill 200 open school bus driver positions across the Bay Area for the 2016-2017 school year. Overall, there are 5,000 open positions across North America. Interested individuals can apply online at apply.firstgroupcareers.com.

“Our routes are covered, but additional drivers will give us more flexibility to meet the different needs that can develop on a daily basis,” said First Student Area General Manager John Olivares. “We train our drivers to be skilled not only in the technical aspects of operating a bus, but also the interpersonal aspects of engaging with students in a way that creates a positive experience. Prospective drivers must be at least 21 years of age; be able to pass all background checks and drug screens; have at least three years of driving experience; and possess a valid state driver’s license.
