It is also designed to honor the individuals and groups who have worked tirelessly toward racial justice and equality.
Black History Month matters, especially in the church world because of the doctrine of the Imago Dei — black lives were created in the image of God. Every highlighted gift, creative production, and human narrative celebrated during Black History Month stems from the reality of creation.
