Leonardo Dicaprio Gets Heckled By Canadians For Spouting Climate Change Nonsense
Leonardo Dicaprio recently got called out by Canadians over a statement he made regarding the ‘terrifying’ effects of climate change. While filming his most recent movie Revenant in Alberta, Canada he said he noticed warm gusts of wind that would traverse the mountain range where he was filming and pointed to the phenomenon as supposed evidence for climate change.
What he didn’t realize was that these warm gusts of wind that he described were a natural occurrence in Canada. They’re called ‘chinooks.’ Canadians who found out about the actor’s statements took to social media to expose his faux pas.
Dicaprio recently attended the Paris climate change talks with his father and is just one of several Hollwood celebrities who are weighing in on the climate change issue. The others include Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwartzeneggar, who wrote a facebook post in which he says he didn’t give a damn what other people thought about his stance on climate change, saying he believes the world needs to start making the move toward renawable energy.
What these A-list actors don’t seem to understand, however, is that CO2 makes up only 3.6% of greenhouse gases. To create a gigantic new regulatory commission to micromanage CO2 levels, considering human being exhale CO2 and plants need it for photosynthesis borders on the insane. Especially when you take into consideration the fact that the earth’s temperature is most closely correlated with solar activity, not atmospheric levels of CO2.
