William Bruce Pitzer is a name you would not easily forget, and especially if you had just been asked to murder him—so said Lieutenant Colonel Dan Marvin, US Army Retired. 

While in his sunset, retirement years (in 1993), Marvin was watching a TV special on the huge number of people (177 or more) involved with the JFK assassination who were soon dead—either murdered, alleged suicides or dead by mysterious, unexplained circumstances.  At the end of the program, the screen had a list of 42 names of such persons.  Marvin looked down the list and saw the name William Bruce Pitzer.  He immediately recognized it and recalled his encounter with that name in May 1965 while he was in the US Army Special Forces, attending a course on Assassinations as given by the CIA at Fort Bragg, NC. 

The Marvin Story

Marvin was Captain Marvin in those days.  One day, he received instructions to go to the CIA Liaison Office for an interview on a special job that the army wanted him to do.  He met with the CIA official and was asked if he would undertake a secret assassination for his country.  Marvin said yes on the premise that the murder would be an overseas assignment within the purview of Special Forces work.  He knew that for stateside murders the CIA usually contracted them out to the Mafia.

To his surprise, the target was Lieutenant Commander William Bruce Pitzer, who was soon to retire from the US Navy.  Pitzer was stationed at Bethesda NavalHospital; where, in 1963, his audio visual section took pictures of the dead cadaver of President Kennedy
