The twin sisters in a suicide pact at a shooting range had a bizarre fascination with the Columbine High School massacre, it was revealed today.
Both Kristin and Candice Hermeler are believed to have spoken with one of the survivors of the 1999 tragedy in which 13 students lost their lives by telephone in the weeks after.
And Kristin wrote two letters to Brooks Brown, who was the only student spared by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold during their bloody rampage.

She praised Brown for not condemning one of the killers, according to Denver TV station KCNC-TV. Brown was once bullied by gunman Eric Harris.
But the pair became friends. On the day Harris and Dylan Klebold went on their bloody rampage in 1999, Harris ordered Brown to get out of the way, sparing his life.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Brown told U.S. media he could not comprehend how Harris and Klebold could go on the rampage.
‘This guy I’ve known since I was five is a mass murderer,’ he said.
Since the tragedy he has detailed incidences where Harris and Klebold were victims of bullying at the Denver high school.
