“After being in Sweden for 7 years I was eligible to apply for permanent residence status, with such a promotion comes all the benefits of the Swedish system, and they are huge. 

“One big thing that happened to me this year of 2010 was the frightening harassment I received a few months ago. My front door was being unlocked and opened a series of times, and even after changing the lock it was opened again and again. Then on a bicycle trip to town, my bike lock was unlocked and left in the basket.”

“But then, after three weeks, the harassment stopped completely.”
