Julian Assange Has Trademarked His Name

From DATELINE ZERO - Julian Assange has moved to trademark his name. So now “greedy” will be added to the many other names that Julian Assange™ is called (including “bad roommate“).

When Anna Chapman trademarked her name, in very early February, I didn’t think it was greedy or vain. As I pointed out then, she has a television program, she is doing modeling, she’s involved in a political youth outreach, and more.

In fact, Anna Chapman has found that she is a brand; much like some American celebrities who’s name is also a brand. (Oprah, for example.) She was actually advised to do that when others in Russia started selling Anna Chapman calendars, posters, and other stuff.

The Pope’s name was trademarked a few years back. The reasoning, as I understand it, is to have some leverage in the case that the Vatican needs to prevent others from mis-using the name and image of the pope in slanderous, or offensive ways.

However, I am not sure the same can be said for Julian Assange. Is he a brand, like Anna Chapman? I don’t think so. … Continue reading at Dateline Zero.
