No man knows the Hour or Day

(Before It's News)

Absolutely.

Perhaps in my previous essay Mayan Calendar + Fall Feasts = return of Messiah in 2011 you thought that I was informing you of the day of the Second coming.  No such luck.  Nonetheless, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” I Corinthians 15:52

Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets, shows up in the published Jewish calendar on the Gregorian date September 29, 2011.  But does this establish it?  No.  In a nutshell, two independent, credible eyewitnesses MUST testify to seeing the crescent new moon on the same day.  Only tradition has pre-fixed this date based upon the expectation of when the first sliver of moonlight is visible, probably based upon a mathematical formula of luminosity.  Originally ‘that day and hour no one knows’ was an accurate idiom describing the uncertainty of visualizing the skies due to clouds, inclement weather etc. and therefore not knowing when the shofar might be heard after the Sanhedrin cross-examined the witnesses.

{This sounds unnecessarily time consuming to modern ears, since these days a witness to any event on earth consists of a mere tweet and we are each left to individually judge instantly whether it might be true or not.  But this process was established during the National Underworld at which time changes occurred 20[Planetary] x 20[Galactic] x 20[Universal] = 8000 times slower than our current one.}

Still you can’t see light if it’s blocked no matter how fast one can communicate it:

 29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 24

Paul explains that the children of light already know the appointed times or Feasts and while the rest of the world will be caught unaware of the approach of the day of the Lord, they should not:

 1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

 2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

 3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

 4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

 5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

I Thessalonians 5
