The Lighter Side of New

The book, “The Tommyknockers” by Stephen King was a book I enjoyed at the end.  I can not give you his ending but it is good.

This brings me to the lighter side of new and even improved.

The Austrian Economics theory came first.  The Keynesian Theory of Economics came later so you would think it is an improvement over the latter.  Not true, unless you are the 1%.

Austrian Economics do not have the bubbles of value that deflate the your value on your cash and property over night.

The Keynesian Theory of Economics has not only the bubbles (1929), recessions and depressions.  The 1% make more money during the depressions than they make any other time. 

Old cars could be repaired and the parts were available.  They were EMP proof.

New cars have many electronics in them.  You need special equipment to fix it and it will stop on a dime with an EMP attack unless they are “hardened”….but we had EMP cars?

Every Mom, during the day, had a toilet to fix at one time or another.  The more industrious Mom could pull the commode up, fix it and put it in place before Dad got home for dinner.  Not with the new plumbing.

I don’t think we are getting dumber so much as the improvements are made the twart our independence.
