The Wizards of OWS Have Arrived!

Truth is to a large extent an arbitrary matter, but to begin at the beginning in the search for ‘truth’ makes it easier to define what is real.

And the search itself seems to help understand that no matter which way it is approached, truth appears to be absolute.

Absolute in the sense that your perception of it does not have to change with new information.

New facts, new perspectives all simply add to the original ‘truth’.

There is one ‘true’ thing human beings all over the planet agree on:

This whole #OWS thing started on September 11, 2001, when some forms of control were lost.

HISTORY

Our basic animal needs are air, water, food and some place to enjoy them.

Civilization brings more elaborate language, better shelter, clothing, better protection and the need for others

That need involves sharing, which extends to every other person on the planet

- “Walk Like An Egyptian” says it all!

The question “what are we here for” is a question that must pass through most individual lives at least once if even as a party game!

If that search is percieved not to be needed, if is replaced by a confusion in some of our material needs, even interrupted by the imposition of artificial ‘meaning’, like status, competition over materials like oil and wealth counted in paper, then perhaps the real search for meaning could get lost?

What if, way back then, you were bigger, stronger, faster, prettier, more competetive? You might look like the heroes portrayed in art throughout history, you might look like ‘leaders’.

MEANING AND CONTROL

What if you ‘exeptional’ people chose not to be tribal back then and are not “Sovereign National Persons” today? What if you were not a Roman citizen or any citizen at all five thousand years ago? What if you were Greek or Roman or Phoenecian in name only? What if you were a multinational group? What if you call yourself a global citizen today, are not a citizen of any country except in name, a dual, triple, quadruple ‘national’ whose home is “wherever you hang your hat”?
What if your group was made up today of Germans and Americans, English and French, Dutchmen and Russians, Christians and Jews, what kind of loyalty would you have? Not to nation or state, but perhaps to something else, something mere nations would not be concerned with?

What kind of thought processes would occupy your brain over those millennia?

Control?

Someone appears to be in charge of things in different places but not yet everywhere.

How would you exercise and keep control?

It appears that control needs no national boundaries (except as a divide-and-rule convenience assisted by the equally divisive babel of language) and perhaps, no matter what language those under control are using, the methods of persuasion remain the same.

OWS is a reaction to that, a profound evolution of our sense of justice.

I believe you have remained hidden like the Wizard of Oz hoping that the people did not find the brains, hearts, or courage to discover that the wizard is just an ordinary man operating “a console of wheels and levers” pushing ideas and pictures and sounds into a global communication system.

Well, we’ve found them.
