Vice Adm Mark Fox, commander of the 5th Fleet, told reporters at the naval force’s Bahrain headquarters that the Navy has ‘built a wide range of potential options to give the president’ and is ‘ready today’ to confront any hostile action by Tehran.

In the meantime, Afghans in army or police uniforms have been blowing away those advisers in startling numbers and with a regularity for which there is no precedent in modern times. (You might have to reach back to the Sepoy Mutiny in British India of the 19th century to find a similar sense of loathing resulting in similarly bloody acts.) And year after year, these killings are publicly termed “isolated incidents” of little significance by American and NATO officials — even when the Afghan perpetrator of the bloodiest of them, who reportedly simply wanted to “kill Americans,” is given a public funeral at which 1,500 of his countrymen appeared as mourners.

There are 72 Threat Fusion Centers. 50 state based and 22 urban centers set up during the Bush presidency in cooperation between the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice. They collect information from all 16 US intelligence agencies, the CIA, FBI, the military, state and local police agencies and privately owned corporations and organizations like the ADL and SPLC which some say should be registered as agents of a foreign power Israel.

A lot of their information comes from contractors. So just how many contractors does DHS employ? Senator McCaskill said DHS doesn’t even know how many contractors there are working for them. Some estimate at one time there was as many as 200,000. If you understand bureaucracies and contractors, you will realize that these people need to justify their paychecks by finding terrorists. Israeli diplomats and foreign officials were ordered to stop using their own vehicles and be extra-vigilant after the two attacks.

The Innova SUV car bearing diplomatic number 109 CD 35 went up in flames after it exploded near a petrol pump, meters away from 7 Race Course Road – the Indian Prime Minister’s residence. Another car in the vicinity was also damaged. The Indian police cordoned off the area and declared a terror alert.

Copts protest eviction of Christians from Shabrat ~ link ~ Hundreds of Coptic Christians staged a protest outside Egypt’s parliament in Cairo on Sunday over the “forcible displacement” of Copt families from a village after reports of an affair between a Christian Man and Muslim woman began to circulate.

Eight Coptic families were evicted from the village of Sharbat in Alexandria in late January under a deal arranged by village leaders in Sharbat to allay Muslim anger, state news reported.
