The Myth: The filling of the reservoir behind Three Gorges Dam in China changed the rotation of the Earth.
The Evidence: Three Gorges Dam, China crosses the Yangtze River in Hubei province, China. It the world’s largest hydroelectric power station by total capacity, which will be 22,500 MW when completed. When the water level is maximum at 175 meters (574 ft) over sea level (91 meters (299 ft) above river level), the reservoir created by the dam is about 660 kilometers (410 mi) in length and 1.12 kilometers (0.70 mi) in width on average. The total surface area of the reservoir is 1045 km2, and it will will flood a total area of 632 km2 of land. The reservoir will contain about 39.3 cu km (9.43 cubic miles) of water. That water will weigh more than 39 trillion kilograms (42 billion tons).
A shift in a mass of that size would affect the rotation of the Earth due to a phenomena known as the moment of inertia, which is the inertia of a rigid rotating body with respect to its rotation. The moment of inertia of an object about a given axis describes how difficult it is to change its angular motion about that axis. The longer the distance of a mass to its axis of rotation, the slower it will spin. You may not know it, but you see examples of this in everyday life. For example, a figure skater attempting to spin faster will draw her arms tight to her bodies, and thereby reduce her moment of inertia. Similarly, a diver attempting to somersault faster will bring his body into a tucked position.
Raising 39 trillion kilograms of water 175 meters above sea level will increase the Earth’s moment of inertia and thus slow its rotation. However, the effect would extremely small. NASA scientists calculated that shift of such as mass would increase the length of day by only 0.06 microseconds and make the Earth only very slightly more round in the middle and flat on the top. It would shift the pole position by about two centimeters (0.8 inch). Note that a shift in any object’s mass on the Earth relative to its axis of rotation will change its moment of inertia, although most shifts are too small to be measured (but they can be calculated).

The only problem with all this Humpty-Dumpty-esque verbosity is that the earth does not spin. It is stationary. If it were spinning at 1000mph at the equator, as we are told, then there would be high velocity unidirectional winds at this location, effectively moving against the direction of spin. The inconvenient truth is that the weather at this locus is frequently balmy, with seagulls calling and clouds scudding happily along in an opposite direction. Or indeed in any direction. Similarly, if you were to fly from Johannesburg ( for example ) to London, you would have to fly in a north easterly direction so as to catch up with the eastwardly-receding capital of perfidious Albion. Alternatively, you could fly due north but you might have to overfly the north pole so as to hit London on the southbound leg of your journey, as it travelled around the far side of the globe. None of these unlikely scenarios occurs. Ergo, the earth does not spin, as we have had very clearly explained to us by YHVH in the pages of His word, the Bible. (Which, if you break it down into numerical sequences, is a divinely-inspired expression of three-dimensional mathematical perfection from Genesis to Revelation; to prove this for yourself, visit “The Other Bible Code” website, by Vernon Marshall. It will be a profoundly unsettling experience for all those many atheists and agnostics out there.)
As the earth is not moving, then the inevitable corollary to this is that the sun does move; it moves around us, as do the stars in their nightly orbits. Therefore they cannot be as far away from us as we have been deceived into believing. So the universe is neither as vast nor as ancient as we have been hoodwinked, once again, into believing, courtesy of the rabbis of the Kabbala, who dreamed up the idea of a Big Bang exploding out of nothing, in the first century AD. The Talmud, which is the work of fiction from which this book springs, is probably the most evil and unashamedly wicked and corrupt book ever written, having as its real author a certain individual often represented as having horns and a tail. You may say that Science has told us these things, therefore they must be true. To which I should point out that human nature is inherently corrupt, and its possessors will tell you anything if the price is right. Which, at the moment, it is. But “thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil”. Time to start thinking for yourselves.
so, let me see if I understand. The earth is stationary, yet everything else is rotating around us? Is that your thesis? Sounds medieval. Do you offer any scientific data to back up your thesis besides conjecture, or more ridiculously, the bible??? Are you really saying the sun rotates around the earth every 24 hours!!!! Do you know how laughable that is?? So Galileo….when the sun rotates around the earth every 24 hours, I guess it just takes a shortcut through Jupiter/Saturn space….huh?
