Backed by the Obama administration, the Turkish government has taken actions that mark a major step in the direction of all-out war.

The Turkish military jet’s incursion into Syria may have been a botched NATO operation on counterfeiting Syrian military aircraft ID in order to fool the country’s air defense. The necessary codes could have been “borrowed” from the Syrian fighter that had been stolen by its defector pilot.This theory, explaining why the Turkish reconnaissance plane entered Syrian airspace before being taken down, was voiced by Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, which cited unnamed sources in the Syrian security forces. Syrians believe that the Friday incident has its roots in last week’s defection of a Syrian pilot who escaped in his MiG-21 fighter jet to Jordan. Damascus branded the defector a traitor, while Jordanian authorities gave him asylum.

The defection brings memories of a similar incident that took place in February 2011, when two Libyan pilots “delivered” their military aircraft to Malta. NATO’s bombing campaign, which ended with the fall of the Muammar Gaddafi’s government, started just a month after. Military analysts note that, curiously, the Libyan air defense systems appeared to be helpless against NATO’s air strikes. T West: Syria’s shooting down of Turkey’s fighter jet ~ link ~ Turkey claims this was a “routine” test. However, it is highly unlikely that Turkey routinely tests its fighter jets on the path this jet travelled. If so, where is the evidence? Turkey claims its plane’s entry into Syrian airspace was only “momentarily”. It only takes a moment to bomb a facility where Syrian government leaders are located.

Geographically, Turkey is a large country, much larger than Syria, and it has plenty of space in which to test its jets without flying over or near Syria. Syria had every right, under the circumstances over the past year, to shoot down any foreign jet encroaching upon its territory at a high rate of speed and flying low. It is well known that low flying jets are sometimes more difficult to detect by radar. If Turkey and its NATO friends were testing Syria’s ability to detect and eliminate such flights, they have learned the answer. However, they already knew that Syria’s air defense system was more than capable of detecting such aircrafts under those conditions. Why then would they send a jet into Syria’s airspace?

Turkish Fighter Aircraft: Making some sense ~ link ~

Predictably, Turkey has reacted to the destruction of one of its aircraft with stupidity and cowardice and predictably, the western leaders have jumped at the chance to up the stakes in an internal conflict in Syria which they are aiding and abetting by providing terrorists with weaponry. If anyone has acted responsibly since the start of this conflict, it is the Syrian authorities and conversely, if anyone has acted irresponsibly since the beginning, it is those who are openly Syria’s enemies, namely NATO in general, which includes Turkey and as usual in particular, the FUKUS-Axis (France, UK and US).
