Funhouse Mirrors

It’s getting dark out there so we are leaving the LIGHT on!

If you’ve ever been to a carnivals,, midways or amusement parks there were these mirrors that distorted the way things appear.  They got the name funhouse mirrors because they were usually found in a building containing a mishmash of visual effects called the funhouse. Patrons encountered and interacted with various devices designed to surprise, challenge, or amuse the visitor.

Funhouses are participatory attractions, where visitors enter by their own will and move around under their own power. Funhouses seek to distort conventional perceptions and startle people as they venture through the building.

I’ve come to think of the mainstream media in much the same way.

They not only tell you what you need to see they distort it to fit into the agenda or message they are trying to mold.  Very few news agencies or media outlets just let the news speak for itself to allow you to come to your own conclusions.

In their minds your not smart enough to come to your own conclusions and cannot be trusted to make up your own mind.  Therefore, they bend the image to help you see what they want you to see.  And, you can even pick and choose who you get your news from to insure that it’s bent the way you want it.

According to the mainstream media and Hollyweird, there is no absolute truth.  To thine own self be true is what they promote all the while making sure the truth you embrace is the one they are selling.

After a while you lose sight of reality and come to accept the image in the funhouse mirror!

That being said, it’s no wonder we are in the mess we are in.
