Syria takes WMD out of storage: USA – Situation is incredibly dangerous ~ link ~ I am linking several stories on this issue. Many point out the dangers of a False Flag attack on Syrian civilians by the Western backed mercenaries, with the blame being placed on Syria and that being the excuse to invade. That may well be the plan. However, I think that the actual reports of Syria dispersing and forward deploying some of its vast chemical warfare arsenal may well be correct. Syria does not want its most powerful weapons stockpiles all at known, easy to target, sites. Further, the deployment is one of the last warnings that Syria can give to NATO/Israel/GCC that it will NOT go down like Libya, it will ‘give as much as it gets’! Stirling
As part of its ongoing war maneuver, Syria Thursday, July 12, this week drilled the firing of advanced Scud D ballistic missiles capable of carrying chemical weapons and nerve gas – a clear message from Bashar Assad that weapons of mass destruction are now in play to save his regime.
American officials, alarmed by the movement out of storage of parts of his vast arsenal of sarin nerve agent, mustard gas and cyanide, warned it could escalate the Syrian conflict and expand it to other parts of the region. ”This could set the precedent of WMD [weapons of mass destruction] being used under our watch,” one U.S. official said. “This is incredibly dangerous to our national security.” The Obama administration has begun to hold classified briefings about the new intelligence.

NATO – ‘Free Syrian Army’ False Flag Alert: USA Claims Syria ‘Moving Nerve Gas Out of Storage’ ~ link ~ link ~ Citing no evidence, and on the heels of yet another baseless “activist” report claiming a massacre has taken place in Homs, nameless US officials claimed to the Wall Street Journal that the Syrian government is taking chemical weapons out of storage for possible use “against anti-regime rebels or civilians, possibly in an ethnic cleansing campaign.”
Despite claiming to possess this information, the US officials refused to disclose the location these weapons were being moved to, nor the actual nomenclature of the weapons, stating only “they are most worried about Syria’s stockpiles of sarin gas.”
In mid-June, Russia Today had warned of a possible false-flag attack by NATO-backed militants operating under the cover of the so-called “Free Syrian Army” employing chemical weapons pilfered from devastated, militant-overrun Libya. The aim of the operation would be to create a justifiable impetus for overt Western military intervention, citing the use of chemical weapons against civilian populations as the most extreme attempt yet to manufacture otherwise nonexistent consensus for a repeat of NATO’s operations in Libya.

The armed Syrian opposition has got their hands on chemical weapons, which they acquired from Libya, a media report claims. They allegedly plan to use it against civilians and pin the atrocity on the Bashar al-Assad regime.
The report by DamPress claims the opposition group in possession of the weapons is being trained in its use inside Turkey. No further detail on the alleged conspiracy is given.
Syria: ‘Moving Sarin, Cyanide Out of Storage’ ~ link ~ “This is absolutely ridiculous and untrue,” said Syria’s foreign ministry spokesman, Jihad Makdissi, in response to the report. “If the U.S. is so well-informed, why can’t they help [U.N. envoy] Kofi Annan in stopping the flow of illegal weapons to Syria in order to end the violence and move towards the political solution?”
Officials said that if Assad uses chemical weapons, Western allies would probably go ahead with plans to intervene in the Syrian civil war more aggressively than they have until now and topple him from power.
‘WMD’ + ‘ethnic cleansings’ = case to bomb Syria ~ link ~ US officials say Damascus is moving parts of its chemical weapons arsenal, an allegation denied by Syrian authorities. Some in Washington imply that the weapons may be used for “ethnic cleansing”.
Syria is believed to have a large arsenal of chemical weapons, including sarin nerve agent, mustard gas and cyanide, which is undeclared due to the country not being a signatory to the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The search for weapons of mass destruction was the main stated reason for the 2003 American occupation of Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. The weapons which the dictator was allegedly prepared to use against Europe never materialized. The necessity to stop ethnic cleansings in Bosnia in the 1990s was one of the reasons why the US got involved in the war there.
Earlier some Israeli top brass said they would use force and secure Syrian chemical weapons stockpiles if they are at risk of falling into the hands of Hezbollah or Al-Qaeda. The US military also held joint drills with Jordanians, exploiting a scenario that involved taking over a Syrian chemical weapons storage facility.

Here we go again. More high-flown Western mainstream media reports of “another massacre” in Syria – once again blamed on the government forces of President Bashar Al Assad. The latest alleged atrocity occurred Thursday morning in the village of Tremseh, in Hama Province. CNN, BBC, Financial Times, Guardian, Daily Mail, among a clatter of Western media outlets, claim that over 200 civilians were massacred by the Syrian army and pro-Assad militia in what is said to be the single-biggest atrocity in the 16-month conflict.
The reports bear the same formula of previous massacres in Syria, such as in the villages of Houla and Qubair on 24 May and 6 June, when 108 and 78 people were reportedly slaughtered. Strident headlines rush to accuse the Syrian army of the killings; but the text of the articles contains scant details that can be verified on who carried out the attacks.
A recurring feature is that all the reports rely on ubiquitous, unnamed “opposition activists” for their claims. A closer look at the individual media outlets’ sources shows a preponderant use of one or two news agencies, Reuters or Associated Press.

UN Syrian Resolution ‘Unacceptable’ says Moscow ~ link ~ Moscow objects to a draft resolution on Syria submitted to the UN Security Council by a number of Western nations, since it may lead to the use of force against Damascus, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Thursday. “We have stated repeatedly that Chapter 7 of the UN Charter is unacceptable to us,” he said, referring to a clause enabling the UN to take “urgent military measures” to enforce its decisions. “Using the resolution to justify the use of force in the future is absolutely unacceptable to us.”
Russian threatens to veto Syrian resolution ~ link ~ Russia said on Thursday it would veto a Western-backed UNSC draft resolution threatening sanctions on Syria if it comes to a vote, as 16 months of violence claimed another 45 lives.“If they decide this (a vote on Thursday), knowing that for us the text is unacceptable, then we will not allow it to pass,” Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told the Interfax news agency. But Gatilov said he did not expect a vote so soon, as “the process of consultations is only just starting and should take some time.”“As a whole, their resolution is unbalanced and foresees that obligations should only be fulfilled by the Syrian govt. Practically nothing is said about the obligations of the opposition,” he said. Britain, France, Germany and the US have submitted a draft text that would give President Bashar al-Assad 10 days to implement UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan’s ceasefire plan or face tough new sanctions.Negotiations on the draft and a rival Russian resolution, which does not mention sanctions, started in New York on Thursday. A vote must be held before July 20, when the mandate of the UN observer mission in Syria ends. Gatilov objected to the draft linking an extension of that mandate, which Russia supports, with the introduction of sanctions if Damascus does not fulfil certain conditions.

In his second public speech since he was appointed to the head of MI6, Sawers told senior civil servants in London that MI6 agents had been actively engaged in conducting covert operations against Iran.

Russian S-300 delivery, a resolvable matter, says Iranian MP ~ link ~ The remarks come as Chairman of the International Affairs Committee at Russia’s State Duma Alexey Pushkov told reporters on Wednesday that Russia had not abandoned the S-300 deal, and there is room for fresh talks between Russian and Iranian defense officials about the case. “Russia has never announced it would not ship S-300 anti-aircraft batteries to Iran,” he said.
Under a contract signed in 2007, Russia was required to provide Iran with at least five S-300 air-defense systems.
Russian ship tries again to return Syrian helicopters ~ link ~ The Russian cargo ship the Alaed has left Russian waters again on an attempt to deliver refurbished Syrian helicopters back to the Syrian military. The last shipping attempt failed after British officials, under US pressure, forced the revocation of their insurance.
This time, things are different. The ship has been reflagged as a Russian ship and while still traveling as a private vessel it is trailing not far behind a flotilla of Russian naval ships headed to the same area on a “training” operation. Being a Russian-flagged ship removes the insurance obstacle, and the close proximity of the flotilla presumably will prevent Britain from giving serious consideration to attacking it when it gets close to British waters.

The Iranian mini-submarines are “a huge problem for us,” MinnPost news website quoted retired Navy Commander Christopher Harmer, who was the director of future operations for the US Navy Fifth Fleet, stationed in Bahrain, from 2008 to 2009, as saying.
“They are a threat to us because they can disperse them throughout the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea, and it’s extremely difficult for us to track them,” he added.
Commander Harmer said that the US Navy is more accustomed to tracking large, Soviet-era nuclear-class submarines – something Iran knows well.
“Looking for small subs in shallow water is much more difficult, because the acoustics are so much more difficult – smaller makes less noise,” he stated.
