In a free country there is no need to rebel. Since rebellion is in the air, I suppose that indicates this is no longer a free country. The opposite of freedom is slavery, and that is what we have. The distribution of wealth makes us look like we are on one big government run plantation with the masters having most of the wealth and the majority living in or on the road to poverty.

What has happened is that government and big business or special interests have colluded to rig the markets in their favor at the expense of the majority; this is by definition economic fascism, not free market capitalism. Businesses and groups of people compete for government favors, by lobbying for laws that give them advantage, but they don’t compete in the free market place like they would if we had economic freedom. The politicians have laws in place that make legal the payments (contributions, junkets, speaking fees) being made to themselves when anyone with half a brain knows these are really bribes, so they almost all are in the pocket of some special interest.

When the pain and suffering of going along with the current system of plunder and control for enough people becomes less that what pain and suffering they think will come from revolution or civil war, then we will have civil violence, and this revolution point is fast approaching. All it will take is some trigger event that will seemingly come out of the blue, which then spurs into action all those angry, but not yet willing to act.

What is bringing us pain and suffering is slavery. Particularly egregious is the monetary system where banks have the monopoly to create checking account balances out of thin air and loan them out at interest. This drains wealth from the public to the banks as interest is paid on this credit. This is the effect of fractional reserve banking and the failure of government to follow the Constitution that authorized Congress to COIN money and prohibits the States from making anything but gold and silver COINS legal tender. The Federal Reserve System is a fraud. But it is not just the bankers and Wall Street. The medical / drug monopoly has the market rigged in their own favor with the Pure Food and Drug Act and the FDA which it creates, and the licensing of medical professionals by States, which is why medical treatment cost so much. And there are many other groups or businesses that use the government to take wealth from the average person.

Add on top of the political plunder and control of your lives the inability of the industrial economy to expand because the energy to fuel it is becoming prohibitively expensive and a great struggle to even survive is upon us. When resources are being acquired, we always take the low hanging fruit first. What is more expensive to acquire is left for later, and later is now as the cheap stuff is gone. You can expect continued economic decline for the rest of the century, creating scarcity, disease and death as most people won’t be able to afford to live.

And then there are cyclical events like droughts that come from nature which put added pressure on our economic lives. No matter how you look at it, when less food is produced the amount of wealth we have goes down because food is part of the pool of wealth we create. Less wealth created means less wealth to consume, and food shortage is a major issue.

So welcome to the future, and of course there will be civil unrest. I don’t expect the already bankrupt federal government to survive any more than the USSR survived when their debts and promises couldn’t be paid. I personally think the federal government is going through some last minute acts of desperation, evidenced by their arming many of their employees so they will be able to shoot the angry mobs, except I don’t think they appreciate that they are the minority in a well armed angry country.
