The Children’s Rights Referendum – Bad or Good? Right or Wrong?

The primary purpose of the children’s referendum is to change our
great Constitution and bring it into line with the UN Convention on
the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and the wording of the referendum, no
matter what is proposed, must satisfy this primary purpose.

Is this a bad thing?  Well,  CHECK  IT  OUT  for yourselves.

The UNCRC turns the Fourth Commandment – Honour your Father and Mother
– on its head, and subordinates the God-given natural rights of
parents to the rights of the State and international organisations”.
(See Article 2 of the UNCRC.).

Under the UNCRC the State will be legally able to defend the children
AGAINST parents, (no doubt at enormous cost to parents).  This has
already happened in Canada and other jurisdictions. (See David Quinn
on To-night with Vincent Browne 23/08/12))  Irish parents, if you try
to pass on your values or your religious beliefs to your children, or
if you try to impose limits on your children’s behaviour, you could
find yourselves before the Courts, and your children could be taken
from you and placed in institutions or adopted, without your consent.

Practising Catholic parents will certainly find themselves on a
collision course with the State because the State may impose abortion
on young people, and mandate unacceptable education programmes and
objectionable ‘health’ procedures, e.g. the contraceptive pill, for
children of tender years.   Mary Harney already flagged this when she
was Minister for Health.  The only thing standing in her way at the
time was the Constitution of Ireland, as it still is with Minister
Joan Burton’s outrageous suggestion to withhold Children’s Allowances
from parents who refuse to allow their children to be vaccinated with
potentially harmful vaccines.
