Paradigm Revolutionary: Dr. Rupert Sheldrake

I have recently come upon the thoughts, words and wisdom of Dr Rupert Sheldrake – and I am hooked.

A bit of background.

Dr Sheldrake first studied the natural sciences at Cambridge University, from there he divulged himself into the Philosophy of Science at Harvard which in turn led him back to Cambridge to get his PhD in Biochemistry and cell biology. He lived in India for a year, and throughout his early career he spent most of his time wrapped up in the nature of plant life. He has produced over eighty papers and ten books – lectured across the globe and after all of this history in the fields of science and biochemistry he turned himself to the philosophy and history of science.

It’s funny how the great minds come to question their founding belief systems as a scientist.

Sheldrake’s latest book Science Set Free was discussed on Coast to Coast am, and I must say I am very excited to get my hands on a copy and read it. He is a Kuhn fan, I am a Kuhn fan – therefor I am a Sheldrake fan!

Yet in the second decade of the twenty-first century, when science and technology seem to be at the peak of their power, when their influence has spread all over the world and when their triumph seems indisputable, unexpected problems are disrupting the sciences from within. Most scientists take it for granted that these problems will eventually be solved by more research along established lines, but some, including myself, think they are symptoms of a deeper malaise…
