America with about 5 percent of the world’s population has about 25 percent of the world prisoners .Louisiana leads the United States and the world on a per capita basis, it has become the prison capital of the world , Louisiana’s Prison Incarceration Rate Is 5 times that of Iran and 16 Times More Than China! Around the time they started outsourcing all of our manufacturing and agriculture industries to China, and flooded the country with drugs while making the illegal, they started building a shitload of prisons all over the country. Louisiana must have a particularly predatory law enforcement and prison industry.The prison industrial complex is a business for making money just like everything else in America. It has zero to do with justice.

When are people going to realize that “revenge” and “punishment” does little to effect “crime”? Socio-economic conditions, inequality, etc effect aberrant behavior in society more than anything else. Imprisoning people is a quick fix to a symptom…. When we really should be focusing on fixing society ,Stop Imprisoning people for stupid, non violent crimes like possession . If someone wants to get screwed up have to job and live broke half dead and in squalor then let them… If they break into our house allow us to shoot them… Alcohol is legal and not everyone is an alcoholic.
