Collapse Imminent! (yawn...) Obama is the Antichrist! (unh hunh....) Martial Law Next Week! (yyyeaahhh...)

I have not posted anything in quite some time. I’ve actually been busy working my daytime job, being a husband and dad, and reading (or more often, NOT reading) article after article after dumb headline after overblown fear mongering about the “IMMINENT COLLAPSE!” of the American economy; about the FACT that “OBAMA IS THE ANTICHRIST” who also happens to be “FRADULENT!” and getting ready to implement “MARTIAL LAW!” because he’s not from Hawaii, but from Kenya – they have the DOCUMENTS TO PROVE IT! Of course, if he is the Antichrist, I’m not so sure that it matters where is he from, does it? I mean, if he’s from Hell, does that count as part of America? I would argue it does. But I digress…

I have noticed that there is a growing contingent of us readers who are so sick of all the articles that always say that this big collapse/war/birther disclosure/martial law (one of my personal favorites) is imminent. I am beginning to think that Alex Jones, John Moore (ESPECIALLY John Moore) Glenn Beck and others need to know what the actual definition of “imminent” is. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they don’t know what that word means, and that’s why they keep using it errantly, so here it is :

imminent (adv) : liable to happen soon, impending

For starters, I don’t think most of these events are EVER going to happen, at least not as they describe them, and therefore are not imminent in any way. Secondly, if you keep saying something is “imminent”, given the nature of the universe and its entropy, eventually, you will probably be right. Of course, it might be 1, 10, or 100 years from now, but given the cyclical nature of things, you will EVENTUALLY be right.

But to keep putting actual dates out there, on a weekly (if not daily basis), presumably with the hopes that one day you will actually be right (I’m looking at you and your “sources” John Moore) begs the question – is anyone really going to give you credit if something does actually happen eventually, knowing that you’ve guessed 1,000 times wrong before? I think not.

So what is the point to my post today? It’s this : you have all completely destroyed (for me anyway) the once urgent tone of the word “imminent” and created a perfect “boy who cried wolf scenario” whereby if someone who actually DOES have some valid sources ever posts anything legit, and they say something IS imminent, there are hundreds, if not thousands of people just like me who will say “yeah, whatever” and possibly miss out on what may have been an actual window of opportunity to have made a decision that might severely impact our chances of survival/livelihood. And guess who we will have to thank?

Which begs a further question, and brings up a thought that I have seen proposed lately : who do all these so-called “freedom fighters” and “Consitutional warriors” really work for? What is their true purpose? It sure isn’t to provide accurate information. And I would think anyone who didn’t have some agenda, but did have a hint of pride would stop posting these “predictions” after the first 100 were wrong, wouldn’t you?

So what’s up guys (and girls) – what do you all think about this? I welcome any comments, ESPECIALLY by John Moore and any of his “sources”. Why do you keep posting all these innacurate predictions when you  run the risk of blowing it for any that may actually be true one day? What is your agenda? Oh, by the way -
