In several districts of Novgorod the lights went out for a few seconds after the bright flash – the news agency “Great Submit Thread.”
Around 20:15 beginning of the street lit Kochetova flash of bright light, after which the surrounding buildings for a few seconds, the lights went out, turned off street lighting.

No EMP here……if you know the workings of an EMP nothing would come back on till all the mechanics of the machinery were replaced,do some research before putting this info on the net.
You’re absolutely right. There wouldn’t be some MOMENTARY lapse of electrical power. An EMP will knock out ALL POWER for days/weeks until everything is replaced. Just another Alex Jones/Jesse Ventura conspiracy piece. Sad they didn’t verify before posting, but then sensationalism always wins out

Some of the lights appear to go off before the flash. Probably just trees blocking the view of the camera. Seems to be good ole fashion lightning to me.
Just FYI EMP fuses all capacitors in a curcuit so it would only be these that needed replacing. Basically its why you have a fuse on a plug to prevent to much power running through delicate electrical elemenets.
We should have never stopped using valves.

Besides, if it had been an EMP blast, things would not start working again afterwards.
This was not EMP it was lightning, which is a form of low powered EMP causing a surge of power in the grid system the surge arresting circuits discharged the power surge to ground momentarily disconnecting the power before resetting automatically. Real EMP would have burned out arrester circuits and depending on how strong damaged system the arrester circuits would short out to ground preventing further damage until manually replaced or repaired. so lights would not have come back on.
Russian MIG fighters still use valves (tubes) in their circuits to prevent EMP burnout from nuclear detonations many miles away.
If you had a valve powered computer you would not need a heating system in your house. Early low powered ones used for time share bookings world wide ( pre IBM 8mz XT processor power!)had air conditioner to keep cool. I connected power to one in 70’s at large hotel for demonstration. used leads thickness of car jump cables 230/415 volts three phase power when started dimmed all lights in hotel and slowed down lifts.
Unless you have any electronics shielded it’s toast. This also includes electrical equipment on the grid. So no fuse in the world will prevent any electrical or electronic equipment from frying during an EMP.

Why would you be laughing, you wouldn’t know what an EMP is even if it hit you.
EMP is a “theory”. The only events that systematically, instantly shut down electrics are yet to be explained. They are usually associated with “unidentified fying objects” which often are clearly identified but satisfy no “known” catagory.
Are these articles being written to reinforce myths?
Sorry, EMP is not theory! It has happened with every nuclear detonation. Over 70 last yrs.
About ten years ago we (my family and myself) saw a huge lightening storm, but there was no thunder with it. It was flashing on overdrive, non stop, but dead quiet even when directly overhead. Spooky.
