2012 is claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or apocalypse). Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the twelfth B’ak’tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.

Several experts have predicted a special astrological/astronomical alignment between the Galactic centre in the constellation of Sagittarius, the Winter Solstice point, and the open cluster of the Pleiades. Factually, the coincidence of the Winter Solstice point (due to the precession of the Equinoxes) and the galactic centre is basically true.

Jesus said that no man knows the hour or the day of the End of Days. Even Jesus didn’t know. Only his Father did.  But Jesus added that he hoped that those who will live in the Final Generation would look for the signs in the hope their suffering would not be so great.

NASA predicts that the Sun will also reverse its own magnetic poles during 2012 as result of reaching the end of current 11-year sunspot cycle. Some believe this will amplify the effects of retarding magnetic field on earth, as harmful charged particles blasted away from the sun would more easily penetrate the earth’s atmosphere.

The Spiritual Significance Of The Number Twelve

Twelve is the number in scripture which is one more than eleven; eleven being the number of the disintegration of fleshly perfection, twelve reverses that process of disintegration. Twelve is therefore the number which demonstrates spiritual foundation, spiritual perfection and completion. This is true whether it is concerned with the seed of the serpent as symbolized by Ishmael and his “twelve princes,” or whether it is dealing with the seed of the woman, as symbolized by Isaac who later, after the natural was manifested first, had Jacob who also had ‘twelve princes.’

One of the limbs of Jyotish or Vedic astrology is muhurta, or selecting an auspicious time to inaugurate an event.  Much of the population is eagerly awaiting 12/12/12. It has significant implications numerologically and it’s the last time we will ever have three repeating dates for day, month, and year. However, the astrological significance of 12/12/12 is not so auspicious. Among other events, people are planning to marry or launch business endeavors or schedule C-sections for 12/12/12.

The science of muhurta involves complex calculations for the individuals concerned. And it get even more precise when marriage is at stake, as a host of additional factors must be evaluated for both parties. However, there are certain considerations which Jyotishis, or Vedic astrologers, are taught to assess in terms of muhurta. The core principle behind muhurta is that if we begin an endeavor with a firm and astrologically auspicious foundation, it has a greater chance of success or having a fruitful outcome.

Being a lunar based system, Vedic astrology is more concerned about the placement of the Moon than any other planet. Ideally, the Moon should be strong in any muhurta and well placed in relation to the Moon in the natal horoscope. On 12/12/12, the Moon is doubly weak. The Moon is debilitated, or at its weakest point, on 12/12/12, by virtue of its placement in Scorpio. Additionally, the Moon is at its darkest point and approaching a new Moon. The number 12 is related to Pisces. The Tarot card is the Hanged Man.  It represents the completed cycle of experience and when an individual reincarnates as the number 12 they have completed a full cycle of experience and learned of the possibility of regeneration toward a higher consciousness.  They belong to a group of developed souls who have accumulated an unusual inner strength through many and varied lifetimes.  They may still, however, be hindered by old habits that need to be changed.  The soul then attracts what it needs as a learning experience.  A reversal of negative thoughts can bring about very favourable and positive effects, and can aid in achieving their goals and aspirations.

 LEVEL 4 OF SPIRIT MANIFESTATION – MATTER

Number 12 – Cosmic karma, cosmic harmony implemented in the material world, Christianity, astrology, mathematics, music

Number 12 is the second number of level 4 of spirit manifestation. The first number of this level is number 11 for which we said that its energy is similar to going in the open space for the first time without a space suit. However, the person of the number 11 is totally unprepared to experience the direct vibrations of the spiritual world, since the person’s own vibrations are still very low and therefore this kind of experience is accompanied with shock, turmoil, and trauma. By adding 1, we arrive at the number 12, which is much more harmonious then 11. To start with, the number 12 can be divided by 3. As the key word for number 3 is harmony (at least outwardly), this implies that the number 12 will also contain within itself certain harmony. However, because we are dealing with the level 4 of spirit manifestation, this is a different kind of harmony, as it is connected with the cosmos. In other words, the number 12 implies some kind of a cosmic harmony.

The number 12 is the first number of the level 4 of spirit manifestation, which connects us with the cosmic karma. This is something that is experienced directly, and not in a roundabout way as it was with the number 11. On the level of the number 11, the individual is still largely unaware of his personal karma. He also does not know how his karma is connected with the cosmic karma of humanity as a whole. Since the number 11 goes out in the open space for the first time, the physical bodies of such individuals are largely unprepared to undertake the strong spiritual vibrations impacting them and the powerful influences coming from spiritual beings that reside very high in the spiritual hierarchy. For this reason, they experience the events in their life as shocks, traumas, and turmoil. On the level of the number 12, however, things get leveled out. Life is experienced (at least outwardly) as harmonious (12 is divisible by 3) and the individual feels his or her connection with the global plan for humanity and the cosmic karma.
