Newtown Shooting Sparks Thousands Of People To Hand Over Guns In Buyback Program Video
Throughout the country, the last two days have seen a spike in participation at such prescheduled buyback events, according to local reports.
Cities such as Baltimore, Oakland, Calif., and Evanston, Ill. all had prescheduled events Saturday where attendance exceeded past levels, with many gun owners expressing horror at Friday’s events.
Hundreds of residents of the Bay Area returned their guns for $200 at two separate buyback events in San Francisco and Oakland on Saturday.
The line was so long in San Francisco that there was no cash left after lunchtime and I.O.U.s were substituted instead.
At St. Benedict’s Church in East Oakland, the line for cars waiting to participate reportedly went on for a mile — even as nearby, three were wounded in a shooting.
There’s only one problem with this scenario: it’s the law-abiding citizens returning guns. The criminals are not about to surrender theirs.
All reports from the scene quote people who were highly unlikely to use their firearms for criminal activity in the first place.

Try as I may, I failed to see an “assault rifle” in this video. all i saw was a bunch of low end guns. and cheap obsolete surplus guns. aside from the glock I saw and maybe a smith or two. They probably took the 200.00 and bought ammo for their ar-15 thats still in the closet. another failure, americans arent that stupid after all. Glad to see someone still wants a ww2 long gun.. This is the most idiotic and stupidist act of ignorance I have ever seen. I would like to see this idea fly in Texas. Most of the guns that are turned in arnt fit to shoot. This is a global conspiracy to round up all the guns and all the ammunition. I find it very difficult to wrap my mind around the idea that a snotty nose, puberty stricken kid shot all the children to began with. It is really great timing when the UN wants America to sign the small arms treaty. China and Russia demands that America disarm as will be the requirements of the smalll arms treaty. You got to be kidding!! so China can invade us? that is what the 2nd admendment was all about and it will not be taken away from me, I refuse to give up my 2nd admendment right. I will arm myself to protect my family, hunt for food when we all loose our electricity, and to defend against government tryrany. The 1st congress had no guns for the people did, and it seems that it is backwards now. So I am going on the record for the United States government to include the secret service and all the gun toters in the White House to sell back their guns to the local state law enforcement. I reallly don’t see that happening.

I participated in one several years ago (90′s), the buyback was for $50, but the was no limit, my buddy owned a gun shop, I bought 50 Raven .25 cal. pistols for $32 each, made $18 a gun, $900 Profit, no questions asked.
People better wake up, feel sorry for the children and the families, but giving away your source of protection or hunting, that’s just plum dumb, enjoy your train ride……….
I used to think Raechel Maddow was a journalist, but she’s just another puppet pushing disarmament of America’s law abiding population. I would put my badge as a police officer on it that those guns were already due to be destroyed and were already logged in as law enforcement confiscation firearms.
