It's all just a bunch of talk... regarding the coming insurrection

What follows is a reply to a comment I posted on infowars.com to a guy that said that all this revolutionary talk was just that, talk, and that nothing would come of it.  Perhaps he is right, but this is the response I gave to him, plus more that I added/edited for posting here:

Just like the Founding Fathers we should try to retain our rights through the system, and when that doesn’t work, do what the Americans did at Lexington and Concord.  They waited for the British to draw first blood, (they tried to disarm them, sound familiar?) and then they got physical.  It sucks, but if you don’t wait, you’ll be the lone gunman and won’t be getting any assistance from the local sheriffs, and probably many others.  For wide acceptance, which we would need, it needs to be a defensive, moral act.  Sheriffs and other local members of law enforcement that join the wrong side should be treated as the enemy, but give them the chance to choose first.

The line is being drawn in the sand, but we have to wait for them to cross it.  I took an oath too, (the guy I was originally responding to said that he did as well) but in my opinion this is the only way I can see this working out in the Citizens favor.  You know what they say about opinions…  In the meanwhile, get ready.  Get in shape and prepare.

I hope it doesn’t come to this; I hope the legislative process works as it should, but it isn’t looking good at the moment.  It hasn’t always worked well in the past either, and in many ways the gov has called us the enemy, but we need them to violently treat us as the enemy and then we can and must, morally and rightfully, react as a large group.

(added)

Let me say again, I don’t want a civil war, but like the petition says, it is the Duty of Free People to resist tyranny.  Many folks say we’re over-reacting and the government has no plans of taking the guns.  I hope they’re right.

I can’t imagine what a civil war in this country today would be like.  The last one didn’t go as planned for those who went against the Federal government, but this one would be different.  That’s not to say it would have a different outcome.  There is no battle line.  There are pissed off/Constitution-honoring folks and complacent/pro-fed folks from sea to shining sea.  Those who oppose the feds won’t be saying they want the area south of the Mason-Dixon line.  They will be demanding it all, as will the feds.  It may end up that the country becomes Balkanized and there are the city-states of San Francisco, LA, Chicago, Boston, and New York, or the feds win it all and many Americans will get disarmed or killed.  At this point, a final outcome can be determined by no one.

Those who support the disarming of America should really think about what they’re asking for.  Never mind a lower violent crime rate that comes with an armed populace and all that stuff.  That debate is over, and verbally eviscerating gun-grabbers is low-hanging fruit.  I’m talking about a war, literally in our own backyards.  A fighting war with your own neighbors.  Remember that you will probably be unarmed in a scary world, assuming you aren’t one of the rare gun owners that supports gun confiscation.  It won’t be fun for anybody.  Some of you on the anti-gun side of the debate I consider to be my friends, so I ask you now, please tell your representatives that you don’t want a civil war, so don’t start one.  I have told them.  Do the same.

The argument that there’s no way American citizens could defeat a government that has tanks, aircraft, drones, nuclear bombs, etc. is just wrong.  The Afghanis don’t have much more than small arms and have been quite successful at fighting off our government, as were the North Vietnamese.  These are both much smaller land areas to control than the vast expanse that is our country.  I have been in the military and, while much may have changed since the 90′s, the chances that our own men and women in uniform will fight the American people is slim.  Sure, some would, but the majority, in my opinion, would find something else to do, especially if the fight is primarily over the Second Amendment.  Remember the DC snipers?  Two idiots in a Chevy Nova with a Bushmaster rifle, (not the first choice for a sniper) paralyzed the East coast.  I remember reading an article back then saying those two guys tied up 50% of the nation’s FBI’s resources, and who found them?  A civilian at a rest area.

I’m going to surprise some people with the next statement.  It isn’t really about the guns.  Repeat.  It isn’t really about the guns.  It’s what history shows us after they’re gone.  When Alex Jones got in Piers Morgan’s face and screamed “Hitler took the guns!  Stalin took the guns!  Mao took the guns!”, many pointed at him and said “Damn, that dude’s nuts.”  What I heard no one do is call him a liar, and we only need to look at history to see what happened in Germany, Russia, and China afterwards to see that giving sole control of firearms to the government is a really bad idea.  The twentieth century is full of other examples as well.  Take some responsibility for your own safety and arm yourself.

People have said the horrible atrocities that happened in those countries could never happen here, but do you think the people of those countries would have turned over the only means of defending themselves from the government if they thought it could ever happen in their own countries?  Don’t give history the possibility of repeating itself, as it so often does.

Government, by nature, tends to grow.  It grows because bad things happen, among other reasons, and the people ask their government to become more powerful so that they may take care of the new, or perceived new, bad thing.  It continues, offering and sometimes demanding, that its people trade liberty for security until either liberty is gone, or the government grows to the point that it runs out of money and collapses.  The race is on in the United States to see which one will happen first, and for millions, the tipping point is now.

Is what I have said here seditious?  Should I be picked up and publicly hanged, or shot with a drone while I’m going to the grocery store?  I have not called for war, quite the opposite in fact.  I have only stated that free people have a duty to resist tyranny; if our government does not agree than we are already slaves, even, if currently, the chains are setting lightly upon us.  King George would surely have called the Founding Fathers terrorists if that word was in popular parlance in those dark days.  If my words fit our current government’s definition of terrorism, then I’ll consider myself to be in good company.
