'Gay' Campaign For Boy Scouts Stalls - Board Postpones Decision On Changing Century-Old Policy

A campaign pursued by “gay” activists to have the Boy Scouts of America open their doors to homosexuals has stalled, with a decision today from officials meeting in Irving, Texas, to delay their decision until May.
The move to open the ranks to homosexuality widely had been expected to be announced today, after the organization said it was reviewing its stance last week. But in the meantime, a tidal wave of opposition surged.
A report in the New York Times confirmed that officials delayed the decision, but provided no other clues.
Scout officials said, “After careful consideration and extensive dialogue within the Scouting family, along with comments from those outside the organization, the volunteer officers of the Boy Scouts of America’s National Executive Board concluded that due to the complexity of this issue, the organization needs time for a more deliberate review of its membership policy.”
One organization actively seeking the change said the board in a closed door meeting decided to form a task force on the issue. Officials with Change.org said the policy will remain the status quo for now.
The proposal for the change had been floated by the organization only a few days ago, drawing intense opposition from many quarters.
Among critics of the idea was Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and wrote a book about the organization. Another, Jonathan Saenz, president of the Austin-based Texas Values, pointed out that 70 percent of Boy Scout groups are affiliated with churches.
“A lot of those faith groups do not agree with the homosexual lifestyle and will pull out,” he warned.

those gay’s are a pain in the ass
I see the comments are the usual collection of Old Testament quotations and misspelled hate speech about homosexuality. If your son is in the Scouts and he turns out to be gay, will you:
a) Condemn him to burn in the fires of hell;
b) Have him arrested for being gay in the Scouts; or
c) Get on with your life and accept him for what he is?
I thought the article was about gays decorating the boys bathroom with potpourri and scented soaps and such.
Frankly I’m a lot less concerned about ‘gay’ scouts than I am the ‘gay’ scout leaders that come with an agenda. This is the real problem. It’s the same thing as having ‘gay’ people going to mass vs ‘gay’ priests. Many ‘gay’ people in a position of influence and power have the desire and ability to influence those in their charge, and this is the real evil that would occur. If I had a son, and if he were a ‘scout’, I would immediately remove him from the organization if this passes. All it does is expose and normalize behavior that affects and distorts what morality is about. It is not OK to boradcast a defect as normal and force organizations and society to treat actions as acceptable when they violate ethics, morals, and standards of normality. People certainly have differences and there many shades of grey in the mix. The liberal agenda that makes it acceptable to abort fetuses, prevent us from protecting ourselves, create a welfare state, and enable gay leaders to subvert morals and decency is an attack on the foundation of what civilization is. It is all part of an agenda that must be stopped.
