Suzanna Hupp appeared in front of congress over 20 years ago where she explained to Congress what the 2nd Amendment was and how if she would have lawfully been able to carry a handgun concealed at the time she may have been able to save her family from the fate of the Lubby massacre in 1991. Hupp became a case study and activist for concealed carry rights across the country and she personally served six terms in the Texas House of Representatives. This past Monday Hupp returned to Capital Hill and appeared again in front of Congress where she reminded them of dangers of legislating away her rights to protect herself, “Honestly, I don’t view myself as a victim of gun violence,” “I view myself as a victim of a maniac who happened to use a gun as a tool, and I view myself as a victim of the legislators at the time who left me defenseless.” “But I’ve got to tell you, I was mad as heck at my legislators, because I honestly believe they legislated me out of the right to protect myself and my family,” “And I would much rather be sitting in jail right now with a felony offense on my head, and have my parents alive to know their grandchildren.” She Mondays video below:
