A decade ago I had a bad experience that led me to go to Catholic Church where I found many true believers and decent People and of course the usual mix of Hypocrites. I got to know the Father very well that dropped by for tea on his evening Walk.I prayed in Church but avoided to pray for the Church and the Papacy by sealing my Lips.
I have gone and sat in the Jw’s whose believes clash with my own and the 7th day and pentecostal,but I never felt very close to God. The catholic Church however represents my beliefs as they have not bowed to the powers to be and oppose Gay Les Marriages.
This may all change and I will revert back to honor God on top of some mountain or while in my Aircraft trusting him with my life.

I have come to the conclusion that calling others outside the fold “Sinners” is not the way to be a Christian ( of any denomination), We do not have the right to give any sort of Religious advice unless we are asked to. We do however have a moral obligation to help others who absolutely cannot help themselves. We are after all Humans first . Our souls all come from the same place of well meaning and intention. If however you are attacked for your belief it is because you have gone too far. It is better to not let personal beliefs or ego to get in your way or the assumption you have of others. I have never called anyone a sinner, as that title is left for someone who believes they are . Others wonder why God allowed so much hatred, anger and killing to happen, it has nothing to do with Gods will; these are things that will happen in any society that abandons Humanity for personal gain. We’ve forgotten how to be social, we’ve forgotten how to respect another for their own opinions. I agree with most here about the history of Religion , where it came from and what its purpose is for the most part, there is truth in what they say. When you know that there is a CREATOR of all this, that is not religion. Plus, before all of us arrived here, there was a deception put into place that would ultimately divide us from the ONE who created us, so that we would be weakened and enslaved to a world system, and governed by evil men and women who have hatred for the world order/authority of the Creator. These people used religions, music, education, money, recreation/entertainment, employment/jobs, sexuality and everything else to corrupt and divide humans. And, they have succeeded. Look at what we have become, after being brainwashed, programmed, and indoctrinated by all of these assorted freaks, over time. We reflect the very crap that we have been force fed for all of the time we have been on the planet. To have knowledge of the Creator is not religion, and to understand some of whats left of the so-called bible after it was tampered with and then turned against us as a weapon, is not wrong. No matter what humans think or say, the ultimate fact will always remain. Yhwh IS. Continue to argue and resist all you like. You can never change that fact.

In order for any of us to get assistance from the Creator, one must first know who the Creator is.
The word God is exactly why nothing is happening, because God does not identify the true Creator of all things. The word God is understandably associated with idols. That is who God cannot do anything for anyone. To prove my point, simply reflect upon as many of the Gods we have heard about from men and women. Take a little time to look at some history, and you will find even more Gods, and even the origin of the most popular ones we are so familiar with.
There is a spirit and creator of all things, but, He is not identified when using the term God. This spirit and creator is real and He is the Ultimate Reality. Gods are but mere idols, and of course, have no manner of power. This God thing is part of the great deception that we are all a part of. Believing in gods is what is keeping us divided from our Creator.

I’m am not inclined to discount the reality of a creator, but it’s been fairly evident in my life that the Judeo-Christian-Muslim notion of God is ‘Santa Clause’ for grown ups. If God exists the way that the religions believe he/it does, they why all of the suffering and injustice here? And don’t dare tell me the people suffer because the “choose” to suffer or because they reject God, because that’s crap and you all know it. If this is some big “test” where people have to make a decision to believe in something they can’t see or feel, then we are being set up to fail. If God exists in a form like most religions believe he/it does, then he/it seems like a narcissistic sociopath.
This all said, I really WANT to believe in God, and in Jesus. I WANT to so badly. I’ve been through some rough times where I’ve NEEDED God’s help and either (a) not gotten it or (b) nor recognized it, if/when it did happen. Why all the hocus pocus crap? Why not send an angel to my house with a message: “Hey man, I know you struggle with faith sometimes, but hang in there.” Why the silent treatment when so many people need guidance and help? And don’t tell me “there’s guidance and help in the Bible”, because THAT guidance tells me that we should kill people for being gay or wearing the wrong sort of fabric on the wrong day in one chapter, and also “thou shall not kill” in another chapter, which chapter should I follow?
I get it. As humans, we are scared of the unknown. We don’t want to invest all of this time and effort into this life and then just have it all “blink out” into nothingness when we die. Our ego needs to know that it is immortal, I totally get it. Religion gives you that…if you live this way, then you get this reward (if you are good all year, Santa will give you a puppy). We need to know there is more to life than “this” and religion provides. And let’s face it, after a hard week at a job you hate, who wants to do any deep thinking about the true meaning of life on a Sunday morning? Religion does all the thinking for you. All you have to do is show up, cough up an offering, stay after church and have coffee with people you probably won’t talk to the rest of the week and be nice. While you are there, you get to listen to the pastor/priest read stories to you and tell you how they apply to your life. At very least religion isn’t perpetuating the violence it once did, back in the time of the crusades…wait. Scratch that last part.
Hey Madbrad; thought I’d just give you a shout out here, Hows your day going? “wow”, you’ve summed up everything most people feel about organized religion and it’s lack of Spiritual support.
I’m not here to preach to you so don’t worry. in short “Your not alone”. You don’t have to try and believe in God or Jesus , you’ve already shown it!! No People don’t suffer because they’ve chosen to suffer, People Suffer because they Hurt, Period!
I asked and prayed for just a sign, once; ( of course a car backfiring down the block wasn’t a sign), but I did understand the creator wasn’t about Parlour tricks, The sign was the silence that happened after that, it was a Small still voice that resonated in my head saying ; “Nothing”; I had to go out and create that, It’s not about giving a homeless dude a $5.00 to buy more crack, it was about seeing the world differently than what I wanted it too be.
If I wanted it to change I had to see the world in a different aspect. Small things make bigger changes; ask nothing in return for what you do. No; Not Karma, If they reward you then accept graciously, But ask them to reciprocate that to someone else so it dosn’t die.
