Watch Boston Marathon Bombing Coverage Live:
Update: CBS reports that the ”man sought as a possible suspect is a white male, wearing white baseball cap on backwards, a gray hoodie and a black jacket.”
“…authorities have video of a man in a black jacket on a cell phone, wearing a gray hoodie and a white baseball cap backwards placing a black bag at the second bomb site outside of the Forum restaurant on Boylston Street and then leaving the area before that explosion.
Orr said the man was on the phone at the second bomb site when the first bomb exploded.”
Update 15:20 CST
Law enforcement press conference regarding suspects has been delayed indefinitely. It is unknown whether the delay is related to the evacuation of the Boston courthouse.
Update: Erroneous reports from CNN and other major networks indicated a suspect has been arrested. However, Reuters is reporting that no arrests have been made. (link)
Original Report:
CNN has announced that a suspect has been identified in the horrific bombing of the Boston Marathon.
Details are vague.
An arrest has been made in the Boston bombings investigation based on two videos showing images of the suspect, a federal law enforcement source told CNN’s Fran Townsend.
The article continues, reminding readers of the possible culprits. “We really don’t know if it’s a foreign or domestic threat,” said Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee. ”We don’t know whether this was a homegrown terrorist or part of a wider conspiracy.”
There has been much finger-pointing, speculation, and laying of groundwork in the media regarding the apparent likelihood that the perpetrator is a domestic terrorist with a patriot agenda.
Is the timing of today’s arrest merely a distraction from another event that the PTB would prefer go unnoticed?
