North Korea Situation - the Wind is Blowing...

I am sitting here at work trying to focus, and for the last week or so I have been struggling to do that. I have been, admittedly, completely obsessed with the situation in North Korea and constantly monitoring sites like godlikeproductions and beforeitsnews. I know this thing could drag on for a long time, and it really does no good to obsess on it, but obsess I am. Perhaps it’s because for the first time in history, another nation has actually threatened nuclear war; a nation that has nuclear weapons, as well as a deep national hatred for the US “imperialists”; a nation whose people are starving and desperate; a nation whose young leader seems to be very unpredictable. And I for one am pretty taken with all of this.

What’s really interesting to me among several things, is the fact that so many people seem to be taking it so lightly – not worried at all, and not giving it any real thought. I should say that my daughter is NOT one of them – she, like me is concerned, a little bit scared, and mentioned as much to me last night. I told her, albeit probably more coldly than I would have liked, that there is nothing any of us can really do about it one way or another. I guess what I was trying to say is that we shouldn’t worry, that we should just have faith. Unfortunately, I don’t think it came out that way.

But I’m not sure what is scarier – the fact that another nation has actually threatened to attack us with nuclear weapons, or the fact that so many Americans are so arrogant and blissfully unconcerned, consumed with what’s going on with Dancing With the Stars and whether LiLo might actually go to jail this time, that they don’t seem to even care…? Actually, I know what is scarier. Kinda’ reminds me of some scriptures that say something to the effect of  ”People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” (2 Timothy 3). And I am most definitely NOT a Bible thumper – quite the contrary. I think very few things have done as much damage to the Truth as that book has. BUT, that being said, I do think there are a lot of truths in that book for those willing to read with an open mind and get beyond all the “religious” people’s interpretations.

And it is really spooky to me how many of the seeming prophecies are seeming to be fulfilled at this very time. There are passages that mention knowledge being greatly increased, which definitely seems to have happened, primarily as a result of the Internet. Not only that, but the Internet also made it possible for the prophecy about the Gospel being preached in all corners of the earth – that everyone will have had a chance to hear it. There is talk of signs in the moon and sun and the stars – the stars falling to the earth. When taken in context with the meteor explosion in Russia back in February and the coming of comet ISON later this year, predicted to be quite a doozy – yeaahhhh. Seems to me a LOT of stuff is exactly as it was predicted to be in those “end times.”

The North Korea situation definitely fits into the “wars and rumors of wars” scenario considering how it seems to be almost more ‘rumor’ based than anything, at least here in the western media. What I also find intriguing about that is the whole “great deception” aspect, and it has caused me to wonder if the war, or possible war I guess, is just a distraction from something else; if there isn’t something much bigger coming or happening, and all the buildup over there isn’t just some major deception. The really spooky thing about that is – and this is just my hunch here – that if it is such, the only thing I could think of being big enough to call for that level of deception would be something like a impending global catastrophe – something like a big meteor or comet on a collision course with Earth. But that’s probably just crazy thinking, right?

Chances are, it is. There are however – yep, more Biblical fun – a number of references to what can only be described as meteors or comets falling from the sky in the Bible as well. Now I need to firmly state here that I have spent a great part of my life looking into spiritual and religious traditions and prophecies, and while I personally align myself with Buddhist teachings and consider myself a Buddhist, when it comes to prophecy it seems that the Christian Bible and the Native American teachings have the majority stake in that market. Interestingly enough, if one looks into the Hopi, Lakota Sioux and other Native American prophecies, they too would seem to indicate, more strongly than ever before, that we are at a true crossroads in humanity, and – pardon my colorful language here – shit is about to get real.

And now, now I unveil where MY head really goes with all of this, and has for some time – my “Grand Theory” if you will : what if all these people/governments/elitists in power actually BELIEVE all that prophecy stuff themselves? (not that they would ever admit or expose that fact, of course) And what if each major player thinks his/her country/nation/team is the “good team,” prophesied to lead his/her army against the antichrist/great satan/Darth Vader/universal bad guy? What if, instead of just going along, ignorant of all that prophecy stuff, each nation is acting under the notion that THEIR god is the right one, that THEY are the chosen people and that the other nation’s leader is the ‘anti-god’ that they will ultimately defeat? In such a scenario, the real antichrist would be – what else? – pride, with a healthy dose of ignorance. And isn’t that pretty much exactly the opposite of what the Christ stood for? Think about it – he always said, “Worship not me, but the Father within me.” He didn’t want, knew he didn’t deserve the credit. He understood the true nature of things. But do we? Do our leaders? I don’t think so.

Now after all that heavy, possibly frightening and depressing stuff, what is there to be happy or hopeful about? Well, I’ll tell you. Just as many prophecies were made about the shit getting real, many were also made about things like the meek inheriting the earth, the last becoming the first, this being a good time, the dawning of a new age, the return of the earth to its original glory, and other wondrous things. Yes, there is much to be hopeful about too.

I know it’s probably horrible to say (although I know others have done the same) but I have prayed for something big to happen to change all this, regardless as to what happens to me. We live in a world ruled by greed, love of money, pride, arrogance, and ingratitude. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy my life and consider myself very fortunate; it means that there are so many people, animals, plants on this planet that suffer greatly so a very elect few of us can live in ‘comfort.’ And unlike many people, I am not unaware of the suffering that goes on all around us; I am not ignorant of the pollution we have loaded this planet and atmosphere with; and I am not blind to the fact that things could be so much different – that we could all be living in different relation to one another and to all other things.

And so if hitting the global “reset” button necessitates some major devastation and earth changes, well, then it just might have to be that way. I don’t see how things can continue the way they are now for much longer. We have created a huge, ticking time bomb with all our nuclear plants, oil pipelines, reliance on electric power, lack of diversity in food crops, and lack of appreciation of the scarcity – and universal rights to – natural resources the world over. When one looks at what happened at Fukushima, what happened with the oil pipeline break in Arkansas this last week, the sinkholes popping up everyone, the fracking related earthquakes, and realizes that all of those kinds of events will only increase in frequency as global population and its demand for “modernization” increases – yeah. I don’t know if it’s more a case of CAN it continue, or a case of, would we want it to? Take a look at the “air” they breathe/choke on in Beijing some time and ask yourself – is that what we want? Well, if something doesn’t change, something major, that’s what we’re all going to get, like it or not.

So I say light it up already. I’m ready to see this whole thing burn down. I believe in my heart of hearts that whatever is truly good and worth preserving will somehow, some way, survive that which will come, and go on to have a shot at creating something new, something different. I also believe that which is not capable of, or willing to adapt enough and shed the weight that threatens to hold it down, will disappear beneath the surface of change that will come and one day be reborn in another form which might allow it to flourish and give life to that which is. I have no idea if this is all just my pipe dream, or if there is a chance it might really work that way. But I know for certain that this “reality,” it’s not beneficial to the spirit of life, nor to all those creatures we choose to subject to the consequences of our constant search for greater comfort. It’s our arrogance in thinking that we are the “rulers” of this world coupled with our lack of compassion for other living things that fuels this way of life and will ultimately lead to its own demise. The mosquito that humanity has become to this earth is about to get smacked – the wind being pushed in front of the swinging hand is now blowing across the face of this reality – can you feel it?
