This Email went out to all Texas sheriffs this morning by Sheriff Elliott of Edwards county Texas in behalf of the Texas State Militia!
Hello to all our Sheriffs in Texas.
Dear Sheriffs of Texas, we at the Texas State Militia would love to invite all of you to a very special meeting here in Edwards County Texas At the Sheriffs dept. in Rocksprings May the 11th at 10:00 am to announce a very exciting and historical event, The revival of the Citizens Militia according to Subsection E of the Texas State Constitution.
This event is being hosted by Sheriff Elliott of Edwards County. This meeting on the 11th is to introduce the Commanders of the Texas State Militia, to give you their contacts and to familiarize you all with the TSM intent and structured layout of the Citizen Militia here in Texas under the TSM.

As we all know there has been a growing of interest in the Militia within the state of Texas and across the nation as well! This is a very good thing to see citizens wanting to be involved to help within their states to serve their communities, it is their right to do so legaly and safely with the Sheriffs supervision working with the Sheriffs Deputies in any event of the sheriffs’ choosing, whether the event is a disaster or a man made event!
This is the Texas State Militia’s stance on these things! 1.Professionalism, 2. Safe unit Structures, 3. Serving the community.
We also realize that there can be a danger to the call of Militia if we do not organize the Citizens Militia in a productive safe way involving our county Sheriffs so security and quality of militia members are to be maintained. The Texas State Militia is structured in such a way.

We are excited to the prospect of having our Sheriffs ear and their hearts and we are seeking an endorsement from the Texas Sheriffs across the State. We are law abiding Citizens that not only wish to strengthen our 2nd amendment rights but to also serve the community by working with our Sheriffs to help them secure the counties in which we live.
The Texas State Militia members are volunteers, we cost nothing but some trust! We all know that our Sheriffs are over burdened at times with many troubling things and the TSM can help our Sheriffs immensely, we are very well trained and disciplined, we are a Well Regulated Militia according to law!

Wait. I know its been a while since I was in the Texas State Militia, but since when do felon’s get to become commanders?
I remember several years ago when Rick Light asked to join the TSM, and he was denied because of a felony.
On top of that, I remember WRAM writing an article saying that the TSM was scum and unpatriotic.
In fact, I just went to the membership page on the TSM website and it says :
Be legally allowed to own and possess a firearm.
Veterans of the military must be honorably discharged.
Have no felony convictions with a gun, or abuse of women and children, or pending felony charges.
Like the name implies, I dont troll on purpose. But I am a truther, and would like it explained as to why other felons are denied membership or kicked out due to pending felony charges, but this felon (who happens to own thousands of acres of land on which the TSM trains) gets to not only be a member, but a full bird commander.

Dude, I have no idea in hell what is going on.
I sure hope this is true. I have been contacting my sheriff for about a year now to no avail.
And last I spoke with Rick over the phone, he said a new sheriff had been elected in Edwards county and that I should not have mentioned to my sheriff that Edwards was on board.

As for the whole ffelon issue….
Here in Texas, our state constitution grants one’s right to own a firearm on their own property five years after completion of all stipulations of the conviction as long as the crime wasn’t violence or firearms related. Federal law allows a state to do this. However, this allowance is specific to one’s residence. Therefore… if Commander Light has a felony conviction, he is in compliance with all laws state and federal as long as his firearm stays on the property he owns. If a call to arms is made, the situation will be of a nature where “convicted felon” will be an irrelevent nature as a constitutional militia will ONLY be called into action in the event our own government turns against the American public (I.e. martial law). In this event, I seriously doubt ANY patriotic American will really give a hoot WHAT the background is of the person who is defending them from the military trying to take their home or familybgrom them.
