There are several things one would want to accomplish ahead of the formation of a totalitarian state. One of these is to fill the minds of the citizenry with mindless propaganda and make them terrified to death of an outside enemy. Check. Another is to disarm the population. Working on it. Yet another would be to militarize the police, or even better have the military itself take responsibility for law and order in communities across the nation. The reason that this is so important is that a military force “policing” a random area has no connection to the community itself. This makes them by definition much less accountable to the people they are supposedly protecting. Plus, they are trained to kill. Sadly, it appears that the Department of Defense is looking to use the military across the streets of America. From The Long Island Press:

No it won’t under COG State of emergency.
Martial law or not, ask a person serving. Military are NOT under any circumstance aloud to police state againt civilans. Or train for such procedures on anywhere other than a military base. The fact that these soliders are out training in the public streets is a violation of the Constitution and for some reason noone is asking questions of why they are there. This should be a red flag to many at the fact that they are just there, let alone training is to prepare you to see them everyday outside your home, on your streets and enforcing laws you do not have to follow.
It’s all over red rover. Try to do your best to enjoy what freedom you have today, and after years of warnings, it is finally here. You can’t say you were not told. The whole world is watching the USA crumble to pieces while everyone in the USA has been watching American Idol or the Superbowl. Thanks a lot arseholes, arrogant, self serving Americans are going to cop what it has done to the rest of the world, and “we the people” are responsible for for it. You are responsible because of your inaction. Remember, we are all in this together, failure to act is just as bad as committing the offence. FEMA is waiting for you, the guillotines are waiting for you. What idealogy uses beheading as a punishment – ISLAM. USA is rotten to the core, and the filthy muslims are here to feed on the rot and death. What were you expecting? Did you honestly expect a different outcome. The only good thing that will come out of this is when your cities are bombed, nuked, taken over by Martial Law, a good lot of innocent “muslims” will be killed as well. Which is better odds than what the Military can do under the current rules of engagement. The time to stop asking questions has arrived. Take some action or die as cowards.
I know a lot people in the military and they say they are just biding their time and when the SHTF they will defend us.
