Local cops should recuse themselves from the.coming festivities the feds have provoked and.falsely think they can “control”. That is correct. This isn’t a declared instance martial law by the Govenor or President. Therefore, they have no right to demand that citizens sh”shelter in place”. Request it? Recommend it? Sure. Demand it? NO.
I’m glad I don’t live in LA. Cops here are good people. Respected. They are honest. They serve and protect. Not like what I hear about the LA cops. Nobody deserves what happened to these cops. But reactions like this amid what is already a very poor public perception of the LA police wont go over well.
Is it required anywhere that Martial Law be “declared” to have it? Declared makes it too obvious and perhaps legally indefensible.
But Ipso Facto Martial Law appears to be taking incremental babysteps into our psyches in establishing it’s unpleasant reality before they run with it. They want everyone chanting, “Yay USA!” when they close the curtains. Less messy for them.
