I don’t disagree with the piece. The military spending is ridiculous. But to state “capitalism does not work” is flat wrong. Capitalism is the ONLY THING that works. The problem is, we haven’t had a true free market for more than a century. If you want to revise to Crony Capitalism, Statism, or Corporatism it would be accurate.

Most of the money we spend on the military is wasted, given away or wasted in third world countries that do not want us there. Our smart weapons cost more but do they really deliver more, when most of the time simpler weapons would do the same job and be more cost effective with less things to go wrong. We could cut a huge amount of wasted money and turn out country around, but everyone is afraid to cut military spending. Throwing money at a problem does not always make it better. Maybe if we spent a weeks military spending to stamp out world hunger, then maybe we wouldn’t need to police the whole world and maybe they wouldn’t all want to kill us because they have not food and we do.
We actually have cures for all diseases, but money prohibits anyone less than elite from knowing about it…
Money prohibits alot of things… so let’s stop trying to soothe the symptoms and just get rid of what we all know is the problem…

The One World folk do not want to feed starving people. If they did, they would have had that done years ago by the UN etc.
People of staving countries are easily exploited and the world dictators do not have to worry about their leaders.
Case in point Gaddafi was wiped out because he had no debt. surplus trade balance from oil exports and was completing a 2000 mile 40 foot diameter aquifer to irrigate the Crescent area for food productions exports starting 2014 that was to supply North Africa and Europe.
