Karla Contreras, 19 and beauty queen from the School of Accounting and Administration of the UAS, was shot to death during the early hours of Monday. Assistant Attorney General of the State, Martin Robles Armenta, explained that the girl was traveling in a Cadillac Escalade SUV and was targeted from a white van as it drove next to them on the Colonia Las Quintas.
Robles Armenta said that they have evidence that there were two types of weapons used. This past May, Karla Contreras, had assumed the title of Queen of the Faculty of Accounting and Administration of the UAS.
In November of last year, in a clash between the army and a drug cartel in the municipality of Mocorito, Sinaloa Beauty Queen 2012, Maria Susana Flores Gamez killed.
