‘Threats that some supporters are making are absolutely chilling’

More than a year ago, noted Republican commentator Pat Buchanan warned that the outcome of the Trayvon Martin case, in which neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman is on trial for murder, could provoke rioting.
“The public mind has been so poisoned that an acquittal of George Zimmerman could ignite a reaction similar to that, 20 years ago, when the Simi Valley jury acquitted the LAPD cops in the Rodney King beating case,” he warned.
It seems he may have been right.
WND reported earlier in the week that police in Sanford, Fla., where the trial is being held, already were going door-to-door, apparently trying to prevent any violent reaction to the jury verdict when it is reached.
But a number of bloggers and watchers say there are not-so-subtle rumblings of violence developing.
On the Mr. Conservative blog, Twitter threats were reproduced in abundance.
“If Zimmerman don’t go to jail ill kill him for $20,” said one.
“Gimme me tha pistol ill kill Zimmerman myself,” said another.
“If George Zimmerman win I’m gonna kill a fat white boy dat look lik George Zimmerman I swear,” said a third.
“This is despicable and seriously frightening,” wrote blogger Kristin Tate. “There is no way this would be tolerated if the threats from whites were against a black man.”
Zimmerman is on trial for the shooting death of Martin, a teen he said attacked him and pinned him to the ground, delivering blows to his head. Zimmerman said he pulled his weapon and fired at Martin, killing him, in self-defense.

But herein lies the problem with this entire case that so many seem to forget. The police told Zimmerman to not pursue or confront Martin, but Zimmerman did so anyway and a fight ensued resulting in Zimmerman shooting Martin.
Martin wasn’t stalking Zimmerman, Zimmerman was stalking Martin. If someone was stalking you or I wouldn’t you confront the individual or try to get away, as Martin did?
Zimmerman cannot claim he shot Martin in self-defense because he was told to not confront Martin in the first place.
Didn’t seem to be a factor in the trail?
Following someone that looks suspicious is not illegal. Maybe unwise, but not illegal.
It’s strictly about race. Would this “trial” be covered if Trayvon were white? Would there be any trial to begin with if Trayvon were white? This all started after the local DA found no just cause to arrest Zimmerman then Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton stepped in and demanded that Zimmerman be arrested. How dare they go around the constitution to demand anything and shame on the local law enforcement for not sticking to their original decision. I blame them as much as anyone at this point.
Just because blacks think he is guilty before the trial even began I think if he is found guilty the White people will rise up and seek revenge because if they do not then this country ios already dead.
I agree, if Zimmerman is found guilty it is a travesty and the judge should be removed for her cowardice. The judge should have acquitted Zimmerman today but she and every other politician in Florida is afraid the blacks will riot. Let me tell them, they will riot anyway. I hope Zimmerman is found not guilty, and walks. How long do you think he would last on the street before someone blew his brains out? A week? Two at the most?
