I question whether Section 215 of the Patriot Act is constitutional. I even question whether the Foreign Intelligence Court is truly constitutional. I see nothing in any of the writings or views of the Founding Fathers that would even suggest that a foreign threat could possibly justify the existence of any kind of secret court or massive search and seizure program without proper warrants. The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1791, the suspension of habeas corpus during the civil war, and the internment of the Japanese during WWII are glaring examples of unconstitutional acts by the executive and legislative branches carried out for the purpose of “national security”. If history is any predictor of future judicial decisions regarding “national security” laws, then we can hope that the Patriot Act and other similar preceding legislative acts passed since the National Security Act was enacted will eventually be declared unconstitutional. Let’s pray this happens before the apparatus of the “national security state” becomes any more firmly entrenched and used to impose a neo-fascist de-facto “dictatorship of the elected officials”.

What is the difference between actual US and former USSR and all other former communist countries which did the same thing? On that time US was the one that criticized all of these countries… but now the US is doing the same thing. What is the truth here? I guess the US, like other parties, did the same thing… and still they are doing it. What a shame for a so-called democracy!

As long as we elect corrupt politicians they set up corrupt programs & corrupt our courts. No matter what Alexander says – THIS IS ILLEGAL by subverting our inalienable privacy rights SPELLED out in the 4th Amendment!
