Reaction from around the world to a case of “Waving While Black” where 2 police officers reportedly stopped a fireman for allegedly for flipping the bird. The fireman claims he was just waving.
And, flipping the bird is protected speach. according to the Supreme Court. Here is the photo that has gone viral.
The incident has sparked controversy from coast to coast and around the world.
‘Sticks and stones will break my bones but words can never harm me!’ is something that most children learn early. The unspoken part is ‘nor cause me to do harm’. My state is a ‘Fighting Words’ state, I don’t carry a gun to exercise my 2nd Amendment right, I carry in this state to protect my 1st Amendment right.

I am reading a lot of sheer stupidity. Do you really think someone who is a firefighter would flip the police off?? Even if he did, it is not a crime. They should have left him alone. Don’t they have some killers or molesters to arrest? Ridiculous. The EPD is racist and they do profile. I was present one day when an officer asked my friend for ID and when he said he didn’t have it, they slammed his head on the car and he needed six stitches. Needless to say the police got out of it by charging him with all sorts of shyt he didn’t do. He agreed to drop the charges against them if they dropped his. Unless you were there, you don’t know. I’m sorry EPD, I am leaning towards Mr. Madison’ side.

Lets Not get rid of cops we have lets improve the one we got if we keep doing that we not fixing the problem it put in the closet because good cop are not born they are made let make the ones we got better cops and mold them as we do our children same go for fire they don’t come on to fire being great they improved with years and learning from mistakes. Lets give the men in this mess learn from their mistakes
Even if he “flipped off” the officers, that is no reason to threaten and detain him. The SCUS has said many times that exhibiting a “one-finger salute” is protected free speech. When are some officers going to learn?

As an officer in Tx we’re not allowed to offended and in saying that how fucked up in the head you have to be to be a dick concerning a supposedly friendly gesture. This is ONE reason minorities have the ‘fuck the police’ attitude, and as far as those commenting on the Trayvon statement did I miss anything or did he not suffer fatal consequences from yet another asshat that ‘disobeyed’ commands from dispatch on not following this kid but want to play the victim after engaging him. The only difference is one was a guy found unfit to be a cop and a actual cop probably mentally unfit for duty but history has taught me that when individuals hasn’t ‘experienced’ the ‘good ol boy cops’ they’ll NEVER see things clearly. It’s always quit playing the race card. Well take the card out of the deck!

And as soon as someone says “I swear on my Mother’s Grave, Officer”, I know they’re lying and mama ain’t dead. And as a Firefighter he should know better!

Well let’s see, HE posted the picture, HE is playing the “I’m Trayvon”, HE is the only person involved who has commented. If someone “waves” to you, do you threaten to taze them, and place them in handcuffs? My guess is no. There’s more to the story, and I’ll wait to hear the more.
