A homework assignment was given to children at a public school which revealed the true nature of this nation’s education model: to condition impressionable young people to accept the paternal role of the state; trusting, accepting, and obeying the state’s wishes as you would your own family. This familial role of the state has been formally advocated since the onset of public education in America.
This worksheet, while shocking to some, is completely in line with the foundation and intent of the American public education system. To illustrate this, we must review some forgotten (buried) history.
Few people realize that the American Public Education System was directly imported from Prussia (modern day Germany). This model of “free and compulsory” education was designed by the Prussian Emperor, in order to generate obedient workers and soldiers who would not question his authority.
I bet the youngster got an A+! What a great assignment to kids. They did the same to me as a young kid. I was taught that America is always the good guy, that America has the moral compass of superman and weve never not fought a war that wasn’t just. That we are the best, most modern nation in the world as well as the greatest nation on earth… ever. Now that I know otherwise, that our path to glory is bathed in blood, im better off for it. Not that any nation on earth isn’t but some nations gave up war long ago. Its not an education system we have in America, its one big propaganda system. -Mort

I can see that based on this attached worksheet one would be tempted to generalize that the entire public school system is bent upon indoctrinating our youth. As a 14 year veteran of the US Army and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and a public high school social studies teacher, I caution against making such sweeping generalizations and stereotypes based on a single worksheet from one student, in one classroom. Please understand that to generalize based on such a small sample is patently dangerous and unwise. While a significant number of my colleagues are certainly liberal in their political streak, there are also a good number of teachers (myself included) that are of conservative belief. We do our best to introduce perspective into the classroom and teach the students how to think vice what to think. While our current government and politicians leave much to be desired, this country and what it was based on in terms of our Constitution and amendments, I am hard pressed to find another country that is as free as ours in terms of individual liberties. It must be admitted that our country has achieved great things in the past, and yes, we have fought and bled on the battlefields of history for the moral high ground. While our leaders may not necessarily exemplify the moral standards set forth in the Constitution, and have led our nation grossly astray, many of the people in this nation still adhere to the ideals of our beloved Constitution. Do not go down the path of the liberals and become closed minded in your rendition of the public education system. Understand that there are dedicated professionals within education that still believe in the validity of the Constitution and work hard every day to ensure that the next generation of citizens are equipped with the knowledge to preserve that document and its ideals.
