Obama Decides? Offensive Air Strike, Ground Forces To Topple Assad

Reports out of Washington D.C. over the last 24 hours indicate U.S. President Barack Obama has resolved to topple Bashar Assad and his army, his bases and ground-to-ground ballistic missiles, using giant B-52 bombers and B-2 stealth bombers and ground forces, according to right-win DEBKA around 9:00 A.M. Saturday.

Some bombers are to fly directly from the US; others from Al Udeid base in Qatar, according to the report.

Along with B-52 and B-2 stealth combers, F-22 Raptor fighter-bombers are also scheduled for the US air offensive.

Obama decided to expand the scope of the US operation under pretext of Assad’s use of chemical warfare against his civilians on Aug. 21, when his experts advised him that these additional blows would dramatically diminish Assad’s military edge over U.S.-backed rebel forces without toppling him.

“These air raids could moreover be conducted from afar without American aircraft coming within range of Syrian air defense batteries.

The US operation will also target the Syrian army’s 4^th and Republican Guard divisions that protect Assad and regime, according to Debka.

Israel-based DEBKAfile’s military sources say they can’t be destroyed by air assault – only by ground forces, that Obama has ruled out in advance.

“It was that conclusion which led Washington to considering air strikes for taking down the ballistic missiles, which may be used as the vehicles for delivering the poison gases both within Syria and beyond its borders.”

The end result will be replacing Assad with an Israel-United States puppet and a major pipeline. 

Wired.com‘s Noah Shachtman wrote in 2001 that DEBKA “clearly reports with a point of view; the site is unabashedly in the hawkish camp of Israeli politics,” adding Debka partnered with right-wing news site WorldNetDaily for a weekly subscription product. (Wikipedia)

Yediot Achronot investigative reporter Ronen Bergman has stated that Debka relies on information from sources with an agenda, such as neo-conservative elements of the US Republican Party, “whose worldview is that the situation is bad and is only going to get worse,” and that Israeli intelligence officials do not consider even 10 percent of the site’s content to be reliable.

According to Cornell Law professor Michael C. Dorfcallis, Debka is a “favorite alarmist Israeli website trading in rumors.
