The United States of Satan Vs. The Satanic Republic of Iran: Where To Go From Here?

Just as President Barack Hussein Obama represented cosmetic change for the United States government after the disastrous reign of the Bush administration, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is merely a superficial response by the Islamic clergy in Iran to popular domestic demand for change after nearly a decade of incompetent rule by the extremely ideological Ahmadinejad administration.

Rouhani is far from a new voice in the Iranian political system. He was one of the first leaders in Khomeini’s movement to refer to Khomeini as an Imam in public speeches back in the late 1970s. He’s been a key member of the Supreme National Security Council since 1989, and the Assembly of Experts since 1999. So he’s been around the block for too long to be considered a new visionary reformer on the Iranian political scene. 

Rouhani’s reformist credentials are non-existent. His so-called moderate appeal to Iranian voters is a calculated and sophisticated rebranding strategy employed by the Satanic Republic of Iran. Rouhani has always been a wolf in sheep’s clothing, sly with the tongue, similar to his counterpart and two-faced con artist Barack Obama.

Of course, neither of them can hold a candle to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when it comes to telling lies to the world and insulting the global public’s intelligence.

In his Washington Post Op-Ed titled, “Why Iran seeks constructive engagement” President Rouhani wrote: 

As I depart for New York for the opening of the U.N. General Assembly, I urge my counterparts to seize the opportunity presented by Iran’s recent election. I urge them to make the most of the mandate for prudent engagement that my people have given me and to respond genuinely to my government’s efforts to engage in constructive dialogue. Most of all, I urge them to look beyond the pines and be brave enough to tell me what they see — if not for their national interests, then for the sake of their legacies, and our children and future generations. 

These are good words. We should applaud the sentiment. But, let’s not read too deeply into words. As the world learned from the example of President Obama, speeches are one thing, and actions another.

So far, President Obama and President Rouhani have proven that they can give good speeches and write good op-eds, but even a child can do this so there’s nothing to be impressed about.

The world must look beyond mere words and cosmetic changes and demand good actions and policies from the Obama administration and the Rouhani administration.
