Directive 51 Absolutely Seductive : Government Shutdown the Catastrophic Emergency they've been waiting for! (Video)

Is it possible that the Government is going to force a default in order to execute Directive 51?

The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 51, sometimes called simply “Executive Directive 51″ for short,  is a Presidential Directive which claims power to execute procedures for continuity of the federal government in the event of a “catastrophic emergency“. Such an emergency is construed as “any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions.”  The directive ends by describing a number of “annexes”, of which Annex A is described as being not classified but which does not appear on the directive’s Web page:

“(23) Annex A and the classified Continuity Annexes, attached hereto, are hereby incorporated into and made a part of this directive.

“(24) Security. This directive and the information contained herein shall be protected from unauthorized disclosure, provided that, except for Annex A, the Annexes attached to this directive are classified and shall be accorded appropriate handling, consistent with applicable Executive Orders.”

This non-classified section of this Directive – which has no counterpart in all the Presidential Executive Orders that alarm so many – are so classified that even members of the Homeland Security Commitee are not allowed to view them.  So, exactly what is there about Continuity of Government that is so secretive that even the members of said Government are not allowed to know what it is?

The reality of NSPD-51 is almost as bad as the paranoia.

This Directive is what led to the recently deceased Tom Clancy’s Video Game Division 51 (see trailer above) which is interesting timing on his dimise, to say the least, in regards to the Government Shutdown possibly leading to a catastrophic default of the Federal Government.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an upcoming online multiplayer video game developed by Ubisoft Massive under the Tom Clancy brand for the PlanStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.  The Division is inspired by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51, real-world events which “revealed how vulnerable we’ve become”; society has become “fragile” and “complex”.
