This occured in Eden Isles, Louisnana. I believe this to be highly unusual because I know of no base down there plus to be fully geared up like that where there are civilians is also highly unusual. The closest base is JRB New Orleans. -Mort

No base near Eden Isle in Slidell, Louisiana!!!! Really there are several National Guard bases in that area. One in Slidell off I-12. One in Covington about 32 miles west of Slidell & several more scattered in the area! What you are seeing is nothing but the Louisiana National Guard on routine training which they do in the swamps all the time!!!

That may be, but Fort Polk is on the other side of the state compared to Slidell. I have seen the National Guard training in & around St Tammany parish for the past 15+ years & it is nothing new. There is even a plant there that makes & repairs armored transports & tanks & they test this equipment on the out skirts of town a couple of time a year.
These are Special Warfare Combat Craft (SWCC) from Special Boat Team 22 US Navy. The type of craft is the SOC-R (Special Operations Craft Reconnaissance). Boat Team 22 is the only unit using the SOC-R. They are based at John C Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, near the Pearl River. My guess is that Eden Isles is within their area of operation.
These are clearly World War II reenactors out for a weekend practice jaunt. Even the flag they’re flying is a 48-star replica. No tax dollars at work here. Just a bunch of guys play acting.
This is VERY possible as there are many ww2 & civil war reenactors in the New Orleans area. There is also the ww2 museum in New Orleans which hosts a reenactment of the D-Day landing just about every year. It is not uncommon the see reenactors portraying soldiers from the several wars training & keeping in shape (so to speak) for the next event.
Get out your gun and sink the boat
