Facebook Bans "Boycott A&E" Page For Generating Too Much Support (Video)
Social media erupted in a firestorm of backlash yesterday immediately following A&E’s announcement that it had placed Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson on indefinite suspension. Robertson was suspended over comments he made during an interview with GQ Magazine.
In response to the suspension a new “Boycott A&E Until Phil Robertson Is Put Back On Duck Dynasty” page was created on Facebook, and fans of the show flocked to it like ducks to water. By Thursday afternoon the page had already generated 570,000 “Likes.”
Apparently this didn’t sit well with Facebook. The administrator of the page was banned for 12 hours because of the overwhelming positive response. Apparently gaining 4,500 followers in just one hour isn’t acceptable.
Whatt kind of TOS is that?? It’s amazing the response Phil Robertson is getting. I have never seen such support for one individul in the Facebook era. This guy is a mega star and apparently hundreds of thousands of people share his views. While I don’t agree with them, I do accept them, he is free to have his opinions. He is justnot very business savy. He should have known it may have caused an uproar. Too bad America wasn’tas pissed abou much more important things (NDAA for instance). -Mort

I gather that the author of this article thinks creating, and running, a business as successful as Phil Roberts has doesn’t meet his standards. I believe that more people need to say exactly what they mean and stop all this PC crap.
