I won’t Celebrate Christmas until our US Soldiers come home from Iraq

The year I said this was in 2003, and I can’t believe it’s been 10 years.

I don’t miss the madness, the rush to put the Christmas decorations up. We used to be the first on the block with the lights up outside, now you would think I was of another religion other than Christian when you pass my home. I don’t worry about buying gifts anymore, for the last 10 years; I have purchased things for people when the inspiration comes. I don’t wait for certain days or occasions to give it to them. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard “How did you know I needed this?” since I have chosen not to celebrate Christmas. I have no pressure, no worries, and find that there are a lot of wonderful sales after the 1^st of the year, where I can save from 70-90%.

The funny thing is that even then, I don’t buy anything remotely related to Christmas. For what? To collect more things that can stack high in my basement, collecting dust, doing nothing but for a few short days to drag out and hang it up.  I don’t recall reading any of this ritual being part of the Bible, or the story of Jesus (Esu). No, I am not Jehovah Witness, but I tell you what, they are on to something here, about not celebrating holidays.

What is really amazing is people seem to have forgotten that the true “White washed through the blood of Jesus” holiday was to represent; a pagan celebration that involved humiliation, degradation, rape and mutilation through human sacrifice.

Whose bright idea was it to mesh the Sun God holiday with the birth of the Son of God? Was that marketing genius or sheer purposeful evil to get Christian believers to drink the water?

Yet as surprisingly rewarding it is to be an individual that is off this hamster wheel of consumerism, my initial intent to stop the celebration of this holiday as a sacrifice for my personal beliefs against war.  This holiday, so cherished by so many will never be celebrated by those who sacrificed their lives in the name of Honor, Country and Patriotism. How many families will suffer a holiday without those they love by their side, and for what?

How close are we truly to brining Democracy for Iraq when we ourselves as Americans are shifting further and further away from it. Look at the NSA spying on its own citizens, with the claim to gather data for terrorism? Yet I can’t make the distinction of whether the terrorism was for outside responders or more like insider trading in our own country I. E. new ways to bribe people with their personal secrets, identifying scapegoats or cornering markets that could not be cornered without such abusing occurring.

Look at the constant Constitution violations these Federal, State and local authorities do on a daily basis to our citizens, counting on their “Risk–Mitigation” factor that everyone is so broke they can’t afford years in court to sue. Now the IRS, (an agency that does not collect monies for our nation to use on our needs but rather represents tribune for the Queen of England and the Vatican) now has the power to rob us some more with fines, or foreclosure of assets since the people of the United States have become an “imprisoned market” for the Money Magnet Medical Insurance industry with this false hope called Obamacare. What the hell if going on here? Who are we to be an example for any country, let alone Iraq if we can’t keep our house in order?

  Why did so many fathers, mothers, daughters and sons, brothers and sisters have to die so an elite few can play a very expensive (costly both in money and in soul) game of War?

I have stopped the hamster wheel, and I hope that you will too. Perhaps if we really show how we can’t be controlled anymore with shiny new things like naive children, we can fix what is wrong with our country.  Hurry and join me in this, before it’s too late.
