West Virginia chickens in the coal mine

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

“Our eggs are blue,” Charleston resident Scott MacMillan said. “And when we cracked one open, it smelled like licorice.”

Scott’s chicken story gets worse.

His chickens are fouling the roost with blue excrement for the first time.

Not only that, they are pecking each other like never before, he says.

West Virginia eggs and bacon for breakfast, anyone?

Those chickens are not the only ones displaying anger these days.

Residents are outraged over the state’s inadequate response to this month’s chemical leak disaster.

The “Clean Coal” myth is coming home to roost.

This event is proving to be far worse than most could imagine. The poison in the food chain seems to be a major issue that could impact people nationally – everywhere WV sends its produce. This is going to be an economic as well as a health nightmare.

      I dunno…The Easter Bunny?

No pictures of the blue eggs?

    • Paul Brown

Surely this narrows it down. What is blue and smells like licorice? Anyone?
And no sassafras nonsense. Sassafras doesn’t emit a strong odor at cold temperatures.

The most frightening thing is the stuff is now in the food chain. No one should eat anything from this area, and for sure nothing should be allowed to go to market. Sorry, farmers, that’s just the price of progress.
Don’t like it? Run for office.
