Hermetics Unveiled

Throughout history government and organized religion has become the biggest bane to mankind and has actually turned people away from trying to discover the truth.  More importantly, it has turned people away from trying to connect to that universal wisdom– that energy or powerful force in the universe greater than ourselves.  What the ancients referred to as God.  And why have these institutions turned people away from this connection?  It is because each and every denomination wants to claim that they possess the “only truth of who we are and where we’re going” and they try to shove this so-called truth down our throats.  If you don’t agree with their dogma and their rules then you don’t fully believe in God, or the other way around, God doesn’t believe or approve of you.  For me, this doesn’t seem rational in any way.  It also comes off as a bit arrogant.  Could you imagine being a homosexual in today’s age and no matter where you go, you’re constantly having fingers pointed in your direction as well as having to hear accusations that claim you are in fact an abomination in the eyes of God?  This must be a dreadful thing to have to go through.  Not to mention, it’s just plain wrong.

According to Mark Passio, religion is a system of control based on unchallenged, dogmatic belief which holds back the progress of consciousness.  I happen to agree with this statement totally.
