British Scientists Clone Dinosaur (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Scientists at Liverpool’s John Moore University have successfully cloned a dinosaur, a spokesman from the university said yesterday. The dinosaur, a baby Apatosaurus nicknamed “Spot,” is currently being incubated at the University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

The scientists extracted DNA from preserved Apatosaurus fossils, which were on display at the university’s museum of natural science. Once the DNA was harvested, scientists injected it into a fertile ostrich womb. “Ostriches share a lot of genetic traits with dinosaurs,” said Dr. Gerrard Jones, a biology professor at LJMU and the project’s leading scientist.

“Their eggshell microstructures are almost identical to those of the Apatosaurus. That’s why the cloning worked so perfectly.” Those in the scientific community say the dinosaur cloning – the first ever of its kind – is a milestone for genetic engineering.

This is pretty awesome.   Here is an apocalypse for you: Dinosaurs!   Imagine if the end came via the cloning of dinosaurs.  Highly unlikely considering the weapons we have this day and age but still neat to think about.  It would make a decent movie I think.  Thoughts?

That does NOT look like an Apatosaurus. Looks more like a Rex or some other meat eating dino. Look at those claws man, are you serious??

This has been theorically possible for decades. They’re only now letting it on to the mainstream.

If you believe government propaganda who has always caught lying, where in this instance, you’re taught that dinosaurs became extinct millions of years ago, you’re already in a very bad place.

Hoax! This hoax has been around for years.

      Your story–

Same story with other embellishments but different University–

“Scientists dash hopes for dinosaur cloning
In a paper published October 10 in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, the scientists reveal that DNA has a half-life of 521 years. That means that even fossilized or carefully preserved DNA would break down half way in a little over five centuries, then another half every 521 years.

When you consider the dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago, this means there’s no way that enough DNA could ever be collected to bring a dinosaur back to life.”

That photo looks more like a bald Peek a Boo cat off Youtube

Lots of problems with this story….

      1) There is no DNA in fossils. They’re stone.
      2) That’s a joey.
      3) The “doctor” in this article doesn’t exist.
      4) It’s all BS. Come on, people!

I really hate it when people try to pass off such obvious BS as the truth. Even more annoying is when people fall for it.

That is a baby kangaroo and this site should be shut down immediately for spewing nonsense, sorry!

    • errie_logic68131

Why is it so impossible to believe this can be done? I agree this looks nothing like an Apatosaurus. It looks like nothing I have ever seen. Careful, next it will be called a devil baby.
