Many do not realize a good religion, will not tell what and how to think, but leave it to you to decide. Mormonism is one of the sects that is a mind controlled based concept. Mormonism is the predominant religious tradition of the Latter Day Saint movement of Restorationist Christianity. This movement was founded by Joseph Smith, Jr., in the 1820s. During the 1830s and 1840s, Mormonism gradually distinguished itself from traditional Protestantism. Mormonism today represents the new, non-Protestant faith taught by Smith in the 1840s.
One of the most notorious cases of religion being used to control a large group of people is Jones Town. A cult was started by Jim Jones, which ended in over 918 people dying in a mass suicide.

Hahaha! This is ridiculous! I can tell you with 100% certainty that the Mormon “religion” is not a religion per sé, but rather it is what life is about, it is the entire meaning and purpose for our existences, and the foundational principle that guides every bit of it is this: Man was endowed by God with the two greatest gifts, being (1) our agency and (2) a life on earth where we can use that agency to choose for ourselves to see whether or not we’d choose Him above all else. And should we not choose Him, then that’s our freedom to do so. NOTHING in the LDS church forces anyone to do anything, and what’s more, it is “the” most respectful “religion” of your agency and freedom of choice than all other religions combined. It is also the most accepting all people. However, that doesn’t mean that it ignores the boundaries that God Himself has set. We are free to cross those boundaries, and while the majority of people in the Church will still love you and be your friend, you are not free to escape the consequences of your choices. That’s simply natural law. So don’t go blaming the membership for your own bad choices.
The Mormons, above all other faiths, not only talk the talk but walk the walk. Yes, there are sad exceptions to the rule, as there are in everything in life. You will always be able to find “bad Mormons” who don’t really live Christlike lives. You can also find “bad” anything, anywhere, if you look for it. But by and large, the majority of Mormons will be your kindest, most non-judgmental, Christlike friends.
Technically, all religions are “cults”. So is public school. But in the average meaning of ‘cult’, no, the LDS church is a polar opposite of that.
All of the arguments presented in this article and in “Anonymous” (ironic) comment are ridiculous lies inspired by our common adversary.
Like all things in life: if you want to know the truth of something, you can only find it through the source of all truth: the Holy Spirit. Only He can and will show us the truth of all things. If we are of an open mind and heart, willing to learn the truth, whatever it may be, and willing to follow that truth and take it upon ourselves, then it is only a matter of asking God Himself and seeking the confirmation from the Holy Spirit whether or not this is something that is true and right for us. He will let us know. When that confirmation comes, there is no denying it, and there is no way of explaining in mere words how that confirmation feels. You just KNOW. And that is the truth that I share with all who care to know the truth – that what I have shared is truth, confirmed to me by the Holy Spirit. The LDS Church does not wish to take away any truth you have already found. We simply invite you to come learn more of it.

A girl I know tried MORONISM and quit in disgust at the little boys who ran it like their own “kingdoms”. I read that garbage about your “creation” that is total fiction, demented fiction, with absolutely no basis in archeology, history, human legend, geography, mathematics, geology, etc.
Interesting article, the comparison of Jim Jone’s sect to what is in Sociology a religion, shameful at its best. These people offer many wholesome family values and are one of the few who promote helping each other. The Osmond’s sell food storage, prep items thru Wise foods. I would take Mind control leading a person to better themselves over the Mind Control crap in the News and other nasty broadcast agency spewing lies. Then again, I sampled many religions and some sects for sociology and found MORMONISM above the cut compared to many. Good in all and Bad in some. Anyone who can’t respect others beliefs when they are trying to do good is on the wrong path and needs to look at themselves again.
