Democratic Representative John Conyers U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan’s 14th district is seen in this video speaking to the Democratic Socialists of America. This was a meeting to energize the Socialist in attendance to organize and picket as a showing of support for the Progressive Democrats and their agendas.

Some facts about John Conyers JR:

“Overriding it all is the quest for peace in the world. We’re bent on accidental or intentional nuclear annihilation - and - I support Congressman Dennis Kucinich’s measure that would make a Department of Peace in the United States Federal Government.”

The fact that we’re still pursuing war at the same rate of the previous administration is something I believe we should organize and unite around and make it clear to him through all the usual means of communication including: picketing, protest – making it clear to him that there probably isn’t anyone above the 10th grade who doesn’t know that you can’t win a war in Afghanistan.”

“[Alleged by John Conyers] In 2012 there is a highly organized effort to make sure Obama is a one term president and it started even before his inauguration – I only mention the Tea party because they’re small and dismissible, but there are much more serious and affluent sources behind this effort it appears.”

To summarize this all, John Conyers and the Democratic Socialists of America are rallying together to push President Obama, Progressive Democrats, etc., in to their socialist agendas by organizing, picketing, and the other “usual” means. It’s clear that John Conyers is working close with the Democratic Socialists of America to help implement their socialist agendas. John Conyers is a close ally and sympathiser of the Democratic Socialists of America.

The big display of support for the political left spoken of in the video was the One Nation rally [See Also: One Nation] in Washington D.C., but the crowd was smaller than expected by the left and didn’t show much support since most of it was radical activist groups such as: The Communist Party USA, The Democratic Socialists of America, Code Pink, etc., and the rest were AstroTurf paid for and organized by the big labor Unions (SEIU, AFL-CIO, NEA, etc).

The key agendas for Conyers and the Democratic Socialists is for an anti-war agenda, Global Governance, John Conyers H.R. 676 Single Payer Healthcare plan, to clean up the Progressives image and raise their rating, make sure President Obama is re-elected in 2012, and to build a Department of Peace within the Federal Government - mostly designed by Dennis Kucinich.
